Our service migrations and hardware upgrades have been going well, so we decided a refresh of our dedicated server offers was next.

also ZEN MiniDedi has a few units in stock right now for Your Ryzen Fix!

I purchased one to see how it holds up. I going to use it as a tdarr node and convert my plex library into h265 to save on some storage space.

  • MiniServer is interesting, but if it had at least 1 big HDD it would be perfect.

Next Business Day + 5, so yes 6 business days.

Mini-Servers gone. We'll see if we get another testing batch soon.
These are quite fast to setup from HW purchase to online, and there is something else we'd like to test as well which would require another set of 8.

Cannot fit HDDs on these, so signup a storage seedbox and mount that :)

If we take these into production i think we will have at least 4TB SSD option from start. We could arrange preorder for 8TB SSD option tho, might be too pricey for general interest.

We have been getting tickets and requests for more of these Micro Servers!

We might do a presale for 16 units, expected delivery ~Mid January.
Just not enough hours before holidays left i believe to deliver them sooner.

  • Since your electricity is currently spiked, why not offer VPN service and charge for bandwidth?

Getting a VPN into a seedbox datacenter isn't too shabby.

Cost of opportunity. If we spend time developing a brand new VPN service from scratch it would take time away from rest of the measures, yet not bring as much value. Remember a Euro saved is at the very least 2 euros in sales worth.

Some of our customers do offer VPN services tho

Thanks for the suggestion tho :)

Software/service margins blow hardware margins out of the water.

If someone has a VPN-In-A-Box with Port Forwarding solution available, offer it to PulsedMedia!

    Fully agree with you there.

Yea if there is ready made clustered solution, we'd be all up for implementing it.

We actually had a OpenVPN VPN service back in like '05 but the code we purchased was buggy and unmaintained, for example, it never terminated or even suspended users, so in reality 1 month payment == lifetime account.

Further we only ever had like maybe 50 users total for it ever, was not worth maintaining it for like 5 paying users ...
