The embed code was the only way it worked for me when I started doing it years ago and I just kept doing that way. I expect that LET has gone through a few Vanilla upgrades since then and I will now check if using the URL link works for me as well.

I find that the only way to avoid it from embedding the YouTube URL is to wrap it with code.
