Windows JumpHost
Hi All,
Just wondering if there are any providers that would have a cheap deal for annual payment i mainly use a mac and manage dedicated servers but as everyone knows when connecting to ipmi java does not play well with mac so im in need of a windows jumphost, wont need it to be crazy fast purely for loading virtual media for boot.
Budget would be around $20 year

$20/year won't be enough for Windows license.
However, you can use TensorDock CPU-only instance with Windows 10 @lentro , and delete it when you're done.
It's $0.0330/hour, so you can use 606 hours per year.
Save money and just run a Windows VM on your macOS via VirtualBox or something.
i only have 25mbps upload lol
BYO
I just spin up one hourly on Vultr when I need it, delete it when I'm done. Not sure if they charge a flat fee for the license instead of hourly, would make sense if they do, but I never look at my invoices.
There was a $24/yr Windows VPS by Hyonix. Oh you missed it because you are too lazy to check the megathread? Too bad.
Just get those hourly instances, shouldn't cost so much.
hit a guy when he is down lol.. i stand by my comments on mega thread
What does your upload have to do with running a local VM? Check out the UTM gallery ijs
He's uploading ISO's. 1-4GB... but he doesn't list the location to ensure a higher speed, so he's probably full of shit, again.
Australia, LA location
Most distros have a netboot image available of no more than a couple hundred megs. So I call BS on "25mbit isn't enough".
I legit was using those sorts of boot images on 1 megabit lines, so "I can't wait literally one minute for this ISO to load into RAM on my one-time-boot" falls on deaf ears here. :P
Yeah good point sorted thanks forgot about
NFW you're going to get a Windows box in Australia for $20/yr
no i meant australia location, but servers are in LA...but im all sorted now
