Yes, this thread has already beaten all time comments count.
Second best with ~16.3K comments is: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/153793/virmach-black-friday-cyber-week-2018-raid-10-ssd-openvz-kvm-check-inside-for-offers

I would say that this was achieved by the goal - most active wins, and also the stats pages added some competitiveness :) At this point thanks to @unfortunately who was the first to do something ;)

@ishrak said: You can also give the ryzen VM away to someone that needs it.

So it is not "the first comment"...

    Prerequisites:

    • User must be created before November 1st 2022 (just don't create a user to request a VM now)
    • User must Thank the original (first) @dustinc post
    • User must Thank @ishrak post Link here for this giveaway to happen
    • User might thank this post by me

Requirement: user must specify, WHY he needs it! There should not be a need for idling, also "having a proxy" would probably not be the correct use case for this powerful VM - there are plenty NAT VMs that would work just fine for this use case. I am looking something more special. Something community related would get you to the top of the list. Make a post about this in this thread.

I can say, I am running https://racknerd.projecthive.eu/ on exactly the same VM which I won a week ago. The VM is way too powerful for this project, but this would be a good example for community related project ;)

I will go through the next 10 pages manually and collect all applications into spreadsheet. Then will have a subjective sorting on the WHY the VM is needed. Decision should be announced quite quickly (but give me some time), but @ishrak has a VETO right, if he thinks my decision is wrong, he can choose another winner.

Just as a note - @dustinc didn't contact me for the VM prize, nor did he contact me for the traded prize yet, but I trust that everything will be ok.

Noob here.. and first timer to LET forums purchasing VPS. So i registered for RackNerd VPS few days back, to try some projects but suddenly today i got email from them that they need to verify my identity and asking extremely personal details like license/Passport and selfie picture and others. Is this normal ?

Is this even legal ? and What is the guarantee their servers will not get hacked and our personal information will not be misused ?

    Someone kindly explain

Hi @ravikutty356 –- Thank You so much for joining LET and for allowing us to work with you. I understand that delays in provisioning when signing up can always be frustrating and or concerning.

In rare cases does our risk team reach out and request additional identification and when they do, it’s usually because of presented risk – either one we find, or one that we’re made aware of from payment merchants.

I did find your ticket, and it looks like the team and you had already worked out a solution to get you up/online. If by chance you need anything else, feel free to reach out and we’ll be here to help.

I'm happy that you had a good turkey day. It is great that you take the time to have those experiences with the kids. I have always felt they are some of the best memories when you get old. Time spent with family is never wasted.

So more then 463 servers, that is great. You guys have really grown fast over the last couple of years. It says a lot that you have been able to keep up the level of customer service that you have while growing at that speed, Kudos.

P.S. I really like pumpkin pie, but it is so hard to get here.

Thank You @FrankZ -- I agree, family is everything and as you get older, you realize how precious time is. I've learned with age, despite always respecting my parents, hats off and much more respect for them. Everything begins to puzzle together and then you think about the struggles, and challenges that they've gone through to raise us. In short, family is everything, time is limited so make those memories count.

Appreciate the support on the growth, we're very grateful, and every day I have tons of gratitude, we couldn't be where we are today without all of you. We continue to scale and enjoy the challenges we grow through, we'll continue to push forward and maintain our reputation.

As for the pumpkin pie, oh man, didn't know. Yeah over here it isn't hard to get, and to enjoy some with whipped cream — wheeeew :)

Hello @dustinc , quick question please on the shared hosting

    1. What is the I/O limit & IOPS on the share hosting packages
    2. Are you able to do a custom 10 or 20 domains packages.
    3. Are your VPS DDR4 packages

    Thanks

Hi @nekkid -- appreciate your interest in working with us :) Please see below:

    1) For our shared hosting plans, here are the CloudLinux LVE limits per cPanel account:

    CPU - 100%
    I/O Limit - 80 MB/s
    IOPS Limit - 15,000
    Physical Memory Limit - 1GB
EPROC (Entry Processes) Limit - 200
    NPROC Limit - 220
    INODE Limit - No limit

    2) Reach out to me at [email protected] and I'll be happy to come up with a custom package based around your needs.

    3) Our Black Friday Linux VPS plans are powered by DDR3 memory, our Windows VPS plans are DDR4. If DDR4 is a concrete requirement for your use case, reach out to me via e-mail as well and we can work out a custom plan for that requirement as well. We have the resources and flexibility available :)

Let us know if you have any other questions -- we'd be happy to help.

sounds like terrible money issue if you regret 2$ or whatever the difference was

I maxed it out happy about that, but 30 gbs of extra storage would be helpful. Might end up buying it just to cancel the other.
