    I think a lot of linux package handling systems are not good enough for the task. But the one with Ubuntu is apt.

    Noob here.. and first timer to LET forums purchasing VPS. So i registered for RackNerd VPS few days back, to try some projects but suddenly today i got email from them that they need to verify my identity and asking extremely personal details like license/Passport and selfie picture and others. Is this normal ?

    Is this even legal ? and What is the guarantee their servers will not get hacked and our personal information will not be misused ?

    Someone kindly explain

    That's odd, I never had to verify my identity. Did you buy the VPS while using a VPN? That might trigger their anti-fraud system.

    No vpn or anything ... just directly from my regular connection.

    I tried... 5 pages ago... :D Or to be exact - 10 hours ago. I hoped for flood of messages, just as Dustin gets, but there were only two aplicants :( I guess, I needed to add some kind of captcha to trigger all the bots :D
