    Racknerd Germany cPanel admin panel is flagged as malware and completely blocked (and not working) by Quad9 DNS (9.9.9.9)

    I already created ticket, but maybe Dustin will see here it faster and work it out with Quad9 to find malware hoster who caused this...

    It's not local issue with some Wordpress installation, this is worldwide block on DNSes caused by hosting malware and "normal" support can't even resolve it or have any experience about this.

    Thats why I'm posting it here, it needs to reach to Dustin fast so he can communicate with Quad9, fix it and establish some contact to get information about abusers/malware hosters in future.

    Requirement: user must specify, WHY he needs it! There should not be a need for idling, also "having a proxy" would probably not be the correct use case for this powerful VM - there are plenty NAT VMs that would work just fine for this use case. I am looking something more special. Something community related would get you to the top of the list. Make a post about this in this thread.

    I can say, I am running https://racknerd.projecthive.eu/ on exactly the same VM which I won a week ago. The VM is way too powerful for this project, but this would be a good example for community related project ;)

    I will go through the next 10 pages manually and collect all applications into spreadsheet. Then will have a subjective sorting on the WHY the VM is needed. Decision should be announced quite quickly (but give me some time), but @ishrak has a VETO right, if he thinks my decision is wrong, he can choose another winner.

    Just as a note - @dustinc didn't contact me for the VM prize, nor did he contact me for the traded prize yet, but I trust that everything will be ok.

    I know that, it was just a notice to some newcomers that if they win, I don't yet have what to forward. :) I have to get the message from the Chef first and only then I can forward the prize :) Or else this thread could become a big "where is my VM" spam from the winner :)

    At least it I am sure this would not happen with current possible winner. Arkas has 100% yet to get the VM :D

    Yes, that was an agreement with @ishrak :) Anyways, I already have won the exact same VM, it will become an idler for some time after this thread will EOL :) I probably could ask Chef to extend current VMs time by 6 months, but now the prize will at least get used :)

    I wish I had a project that would benefit the community, but the truth is I want to trial a bunch of metric collection and monitoring tools to keep track of my growing empire of VPS' after BF sales. (well ok, it's mostly different bundles of low-end NAT hosts because I am a cheap bastard!)

    I am looking for a solution which will have the smallest footprint possible on the end hosts. It will need to support micro low-end boxes (µLEBs) ... Those with less than 64MB RAM.

    First PoC will be a netdata parent node. Next would be Observium... After that, there are a few more popular ones, but this old-fart wants to see if he can get a suite of RRDTool graphs going again :persevere:

    It may also act as an Ansible node, to make managing the other hosts a little easier. I'm usually a puppet user, but looking to learn something new and this could be a great excuse to do so!

    More of these second-hand giveaways could happen, because I imagine, lots of prizes are idling... On the other hand, Chef really plans his resources so that they would idle, so he could giveaway more :) So if all VMs would be fully used, then hosts would start slowing down :)
