Exactly. I see no reason to favor the "VPS Black Moon". If they had added a bit more ssd space or RAM it could have been interesting...
These cunning guys make you cancel the plan a month before the end, otherwise you will have to pay another year if you forget to cancel on time.
LOL @ that offer.
Standard VPS 500 G10s is hourly billed too (!!), you'll get your money back if you cancel your contract before 6 months.
This Black Moon is complete bullshit, saving 0.30euro per month as special deal by prepaying per 12 month and losing abillity to get your money back on cancellation.
No, it was changed way back, in April.
"contract term is not automatically extended by a further 12 months after the minimum term, but only by one month at a time"

Hey guys
Is it possible to cancel netcup service before contract expiry period?
There was a change in German customer law that doesn't allow contracts to be automatically extended by another minimum term.
there is no such thing like 'expiry' with netcup contracts. this means a) you MUST cancel your contract actively, it will not end by itself. b) you have to do that 30 days in advance otherwise the contract will automatically be extended.
c) even if the billing period is diffenret/shorter to your chosen contract term length, and you do not want to use it anymore, they will bill you for the full (initial) contract period (aka 12 months for those sales).
You can cancel in the first month or transfer it to someone else.
If you decide to drop the RS4000, I'd love to take it.
That's a good option to get rid quickly of a 'special' vps, (unless that's a VPS Black Moon, of course )...
In other news: seems like netcup will introduce EPYC Milan (3rd gen) / EPYC Genoa (4th gen) soon.
In product details there is new dropdown where you can choose CPU. For now there is only "7702" in dropdown.
Lack of "AMD EPYC" before "7702" suggests that it will be another EPYC, not Intel or Ryzen.

It was clever idea to push release of this line after Black Friday because they used capacity on older nodes, maximized profit from them and locked people into contracts, so they dont need to worry about profits from these older servers after releasing new line.
It was a good idea that I skiped this offer. I'll wait the new line, I hoppe that will be available in Advent Calendar or in the near future with double SSD. My easter RS1000g9.5 will expire soon.
If I read the above comments, does that make me silly for choosing the RS 8000 black Friday? Xd
We don't know the pricing.
But if they already pushed such change to production it will be released very soon.
I didn't saw this drop-down yesterday.
Like @adns says, it will likely be sold on advent calendar special as they would want to fill up these nodes too with longer-term clients and then use remaining space for regular monthly users.
That way servers pay for itself with 1-year contract users and they can experiment on remaining capacity with higher margins.
I actually saw the drop down last week as well, found it weird it even had a drop-down as there was only one option.
Hmmm... maybe I missed it or I had cached version saved.
Likely. I saw it during the last days, not sure when but it didn't appear today. Wait and see...
@Skyrider if it fits your needs of course not, enjoy your VPS
Well it would suck if the new gen is more powerful with a cheaper price in terms of the current gen. I only upgraded for the 64GB Ram. Though with an increase of 20 euros compared to 4000, I gained 6 threads, 2TB space and 32GB.
Though last gen upgrade kept the same ram amount, but quite an increase in core speed and space.
That's unlikely.
I meant cheaper in terms of power compared to the current gen. You'll most likely pay a few euro's more. But it usually makes the previous gen less worth it.
I'm also a tad disappointed that netcup refused to cancel my old server 1 month earlier as I signed a 12 month black Friday offer contract. Merely didn't want to pay for my old server seeing I'm paying for a more expensive one.
They had no issues doing so back in 2020.
yeah they can be pretty strict with that stuff
it's usually a good idea to cancel your box in advance when you expect to grab something during a sale. simply because you can revoke the cancellation before the last day easily ;-)
also depending on what that old box is, you could try to offer it for transfer and get a bit money back for the remainder, their forum also has a category/market place for that.
Ya, that's something I should have done. When I mentioned it that in 2020 they accepted early termination in regards of a server upgrade, they haven't replied back to me.. it's like they are fully ghosting me when it comes to the subject. Bit disrespectful.
