Need assistance tuning php-fpm for a 1GB RAM VPS

Hello all. I'm setting up a Linode VPS (Debian 7 64-bit) with 1GB RAM. It is only running one Worpress installation so far. The database is on a separate VPS. I have varnish and APC configured as well, but my php-fpm processes are slamming my VPS. I've made attempts to adjust the settings in php-fpm.conf,,, and php.ini,,, but just can't get it right. The VPS shows 8 cores,,, so I've attempted to configure nginx.conf accordingly.

Any experts here on this matter? Your help would be appreciated.
