    i'd like 2.5gb and 3 or 4x 10gb
    then wire up my apartment with cat7 and fiber
    means in the future i can throw out the switch and push 10gbe thru cat 7 and 40? gb thru fiber, means once i lay the cables im done as long as i live here

    loong story but it is coming to my house via ethernet to isp router sitting outside my house.

    KDE, Xfce, GNOME, LXQt-kwin, Cinnamon, Mate, Wayfire, Qtile, i3wm and Sway.

    Then your hardware must be really old. Don't upgrade to new kernel.
