Netcup Blackfriday offers

edited November 2022 in General

As expected netcup released their schedule for Blackfriday with the beginning of what they call 'Domain week' aka the week till BF.

While the domain offerings already started, but are not really that interesting, they also announced their offerings throughout BF and times to when those are opened up.

Nothing unexpected I'd say, looks like their regular offers at 12 month contract term pricing, so mainly cores, ram, disk might be bigger on those.

posting the links here already (only VPS and root servers), though these lead to an error right now and will only be open for order during the given time:

7 am - RS 4000 G9.5 SE @ 31,58 € - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3127

8 am - RS 2000 G9.5 SE @ 16,89 € - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3129

9 am - VPS 2000 G10 SE @ 13,07 - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3131

10 am -:RS Black Galaxy @ 56,66 € - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3132

11 am - VPS Black Planet @ 25,05 € - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3134

12 pm - VPS 1000 G10 SE @ 9,53 € - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3135

12 pm - RS Black Star @ 24,44 € - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3136

2 pm - VPS 6000 G10 SE @ 34,88 € - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3138

3 pm - RS 1000 G9.5 SE @ 9,81 € - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3140

4 pm - VPS Black Moon @ 5,79 € - https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=3142

Some of these offers are limited, so probably gone quick. Be aware, that have contractual terms that will bind you for a year, even though the payment term might be shorter. also their contracts renew automatically, if not actively cancelled in advance!

Because of these very german contracts and stuff not for everybody, but performance wise usually a lot of bang for the buck...

  • Yeah, you were right about their BF prices. I really want to see what kind of CPU/RAM/Disk upgrades would the SE's have. Still one more week to go.

  • How late is "16 am"?

  • Which time zone? Be specific.

Sorry, forgot to mention that. Yes, times are CET indeed (german time). Only Black Friday itself so far, but highly likely they'll come up with more or less the same foe cyber monday. Also I'd expect them to run their advent calendar again (probably same offers, just different namings).

Perhaps I misremember, but I don't think that netcup do anything for CM -- at least in the past, they didn't (if I remember well)

In other news: Ongoing DDoS against Netcup. Seeing some failing connections from specific DCs right now. Hope they get it under control.

  • Does the price include 9% price increase? :/

maybe because the prices increase. :-( hope they are well.

  • @dragonfsky said: Does the price include 9% price increase?

i guess so. if you compare the prices with last year, these have gone up.

  • Never been a fan of such Black Friday deals that only lasts for an hour and set on a specific time. For someone having eg night shifts and being asleep at that time would just suck.

And ya, the prices has gone up already since the beginning of this month.

I am curious what RS Black Galaxy is. Maybe their largest root server?

  • @dragonfsky said:

Yes, new orders since early november already include that.
In general it's fair to mention, that pricing so far had been stable for years.
And increases in costs, especially power in datacenters really are a thing around here sadly. So I'd rather live a ine time increase on a stable, well performing provider than switching to another cheapskate that's eventually going out of business next year...

  • I'll interested in VPS Black Moon if it will have the VPS 500 G10s config with 160 GB SSD.

Another question, when the usual 12 month contract ends, will be the billing period changed to every month or still be every 6 or 12 months? I know that the contract period can not be restarted but billing period is not understandable me in this situation.

  • @adns said: Another question, when the usual 12 month contract ends, will be the billing period changed to every month or still be every 6 or 12 months? I know that the contract period can not be restarted but billing period is not understandable me in this situation.

After the first 12-month period, the contract will be renewed for another 12 months together with the same billing period (every 6 or 12 months, depending)

The only difference is that after the first 12-month period, you can cancel the contract 31 days in advance at any time

No, if you sign a contract for 6/12, you will be "forced" to use it and pay for that time.

No, it's not working like this.

If your contract commitment is 6 months, you pay 6 months in advance, and you can't ask for a refund after 2 months.

If you're in the EU, netcup will offer to refund you for the remaining time to your bank account via SEPA even if you originally paid via PayPal. (I've done this before)

If you're not in the EU, frankly, I'm not sure what happens, so perhaps someone else can share their experience. I assume that in the worst case, account credit is always possible

  • @CalmDown @kend

I think that you're both mistaken. That's the way that it used to be, but things have changed in this respect (after the first 12-month period)

Yes, only if he's already finished his first 12-month contract he can cancel his service one month ahead and get refunded.

Sorry, I haven't read the entire thread above.

  • Thanks for everyone! It was very helpful.

I think the root servers are billed monthly. at least that's what it says on the product details page

If you are on netcup.EU everything is monthly, if you are on netcup.DE most of the things are 6 months payment, 12 months contract, but better prices ;')

  • Their offers look comparatevely overpriced, don't they?

  • depends what the SE (special addition includes)

Im waiting to see what the : VPS Black Moon is. assuming it's the VPS 500 G10s with double disk. but not sure... could be a smaller root server!

offers during their sales usually come with 12 month initial contract term. the billing period differs depending on the base price. the cheaper ones usually are billed yearly and only for the higher priced ones it goes down to 6 or 3 month.

if it says VPS then it'S not going to be a root server obviously ;-)
in former sales this offer was something like 2c/8G/160G - but does not have to be like that again. the range of VPS 500 is probably the right guess though.

  • Hello guys. Is it possible to install Windows to their root vps?
