I imagine that would get expensive haha
Hello everyone
Hi! How’s your day going?
Just a question to you guys, which server would you choose for 1GB extra RAM. I had one with 1GB in Chicago, its an older E5 if I remember correctly. And now I won 1.5GB Ryzen. The old one is 14 usd/year, new one 36...
I guess, I will go with the old one and lose on performance, but save on my wallet in the long run... What would you do?
@MooCowGalaxy it's going well
i "should" pay 22€ per month for 2 years and i'll get a second connection in few years when 100mb isnt fast enough
i can get a 1gig buut NAT/ipv6 only
It’s all up to you! Whichever you want or need.
That’s good to hear!
Totally depends on performance requirement.
I see, for the 1gig your provider only offers NAT? I’ve never heard of ISPs doing that before, that’s interesting
Hola
Hey, how are you doing?
very shit tbh
Good Morning!
If you are happy with the old one, keep using it 😁
Hardware giveaway?
that be sick, im looking for a POWER EFFICIENT server XD but shipping will be rough
I'm happy with the idling. Also a won VPS. Always for "future projects", but life with 3 children (2, 5 and 7) requires more time than wanted... and no one has invented 30hour day yet for all personal stuff...
They should provide a full ipv4 especially for 1 gigabit. That’s pretty bad.
Good morning!
That would be really cool!
yepp
so my idea would be DNS like setup or firewall
if netflix, youtube etc use ipv6, everything else ipv4
Oh yeah that’s rough. If they do a full server giveaway you could ask them to send it off to somewhere in the US to colocate, but colocation is a bit expensive.
Colocation giveaway
HARDWARE
send it to racknerd to colocate, they are affordable
Well, cool that the option is there. Stinks that it may not be reliable
I'm behind CGNAT with no IPv6
Would be cool if they offered a few months of free colocation!
