    I have ordered a kvm vps and made the payment. but the vps isn't active. It is not pingable. Placed the order an hour back, have waited long enough I think.

    I have a ticket opened for the same.

    Our VPS nodes run OpenVZ 7 which uses kernel 3.10.
    VMs created on our OpenVZ 7 platform inherit the distribution kernel. For example, if you created a VPS with Ubuntu 20.04, you will inherit Ubuntu 20.04's kernel, which is 5.4.0 out-the-box.

    But speeds are very slow at the moment on the VPS (around 100mbps). @Ernie can you have a look please?

    Please be noted that its shared CPU so you can not expect a similar benchmark result as mentioned on the benchmark website.

    The multi core geekbench score of 4 core Ryzen is lower than the score of my 4 core Xeon that's 10 years old.

    Is it possible to get better performance?

    should i migrate to a location other than LAX?

    Apparently at https://dedipath.com/fall-sale, someone pointed it out after I’d already bought a dedi from here. I’m a little salty about it, newer cpu and unlim bw for $1 less in LA, would’ve grabbed that instead.

    Not the best first impression, my dedi was delivered fast but was missing the control panel section entirely, so I couldn’t install an OS. My initial activation email was missing IPMI login and immediately got a ticket after where they included it, also. It took about 12 hours to resolve the no control panel ticket, so that’s not bad at least, but it feels like whoever is doing the setup is rushing through these.
