Megabytes used to weigh hundreds of pounds.
More specifically, 5 megabytes of data weighed one ton.
In 1956, the first computer had something similar to a hard drive.
At the time, it was a huge leap in storage capabilities, but the cabinet that contained the hard drive weighed over 2,200 pounds and could hold 5 MBs of data.
i still have a 64mb hard drive
but it is of no use in current time.
Well to be honest it does not taste that great, but there are other benefits.
Oaxacan humming bird after drinking mushroom tea.

You meant hoe ?
Oh i see, don't have law's in mind currently hehe but i see transistors double every 2 years and hence this is what is happening.
As of August 2022, the largest hard drive is 22 TB (while SSDs can be much bigger at 100 TB, mainstream consumer SSDs cap at 8 TB). Smaller, 2.5-inch drives, are available at up to 2TB for laptops, and 5TB as external drives.
HYPE UP! HYPE UP!!
You can go to San Jose Del Pacifico, Oaxaca, Mexico where these mushrooms are legal. One of the best places to find magic mushrooms is called Cabañas Pacifico. It features a restaurant on the second floor. Go up the stairs on the left and you will arrive at an outdoor patio with jaw-dropping views of the nature in San Jose del Pacifico. Unlike most places that offer whole mushrooms, this restaurant serves mushroom tea. The mushroom tea here is one of the the best in San Jose Del Pacifico. In fact, Cabañas Pacifico is one of the first establishments to sell anything mushroom-related here. They are the pioneer of mushroom tourism in San Jose. The last time I was there the cost was 200 MXN pesos per cup, or about $9 and you have to follow the instructions the old grandma will give you. She will tell you to drink half a cup only and don’t drink any more than that.
EDIT: I forgot to add that mushroom season is from the months of July to October. That is the best time to go and you will have the highest chances of finding good quality mushrooms.
San Jose Del Pacifico is situated 2500m (8,200 ft) above sea level. This elevation is quite high, which seems appropriate to me, but for those with respiratory problems it may cause issues.
Grandma..
I want to teleport right now
and you will.
Are you sure about 5 TB ?
external drives are differently formatted, cannot be used as ntfs, i think so 5tb might be max for them, wikipedia stated it as 5tb
Ok ok ok
Also great scenery and lots of bohemian type folks. Come to Oaxaca.
Ok, I've done bobs tea, cute birds, travel, and am not getting much reaction.
So I am going to go with the flow.
I have 10 old 320GB IDE Hard drives that I made into a door stop and paper weight.
What do you guys do with your old hard drives?
i don't have any actually, but i'd use it as storage for backup, you can't have enough backups
The reason I stopped using those HDs was because I no longer have any machines with IDE drive connections.
Sadly, when I was younger, I have thrown away smaller disks. Now the smallest I own is an IDE disk with variable disk space depending on jumper settings. It goes from 1.7GB to 5.xGB (don't remember exactly). I keep it as my own museum item
You can always use IDE to USB cases
Actually that is a good idea, not sure why I did not think of that. Thank you.
