    It was the type of culture where as a man you were responsible for your wife(s) forever. If you did not provide for your wives you were looked at as a man that could not be trusted. This was also a place that had been in civil war for 30+ years so there were a shortage of men and more of a shortage of men who were financially well of enough to afford to take care of a wife. Strange times breeds strange practices.

    Many places have camera at workspace, not for just keep an eye on theft, safety, but also to check if the workers are not doing their job.

    I'm from Mexico but that does not happen here. I was talking about a remote place in north eastern Guatemala and a guy I knew when I lived there for a while back in 1990. There were a lot of things going on there at that time that were a lot crazier then having multiple wives.
