Does this involve the installation of the whole of nextcloud? I just need some browser based client that connect to the storage.
By that I mean the client software that connects to the FTP/Samba/S3 is installed on the remote workstation or server that needs the data, but the data itself is stored on a different server, say S3, Backblaze etc.
So all downloads, uploads etc between my remote workstation/server and the storage server, not my local desktop.
I think I didn't explain myself well in the question and the time for editing has passed.
What I need is a system where the client software that connects to the FTP/Samba/S3 is installed on the remote workstation or server that needs the data, but the data itself is stored on a different server, say S3, Backblaze etc.

It is like Cyberduck software that displays the data on another machine

Hmm. The closest thing I can think about is FileZilla running inside docker on your remote server which exposes an UI over HTTP(S).

how much do you want to tinker?
nextcloud would be a simple option. you can use the cifs as a storage. (to make is easier, you could use a small nextcloud instance directly from hetzner and mount the storage box inside).
another way. you can use a server, mount the storage box via cifs or even rclone to a local folder and use any opensource web gui you want (for example hurlenko/filebrowser)
