Best location in USA

I need server presence in USA. What location in USA is the best in terms of latency inside USA? I see central USA is Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas. So Kansas should have best avg latency inside USA?

Maybe not the "best average", but I saw very good performance with Ashburn too, you can test it out.
Its like Amsterdam/Frankfurt but in USA xD

I can second Ashburn. Very good performance, Texas and Kansas are very good as well.

  • Kansas seems offers the lowest price in USA regarding hosting. Well, I will take a look at Ashburn as well. Thank you guys for quick response and help.

    Hetzner has the Ashburn location.
I would prefer Chicago and Texas for USA visitors though.

Hetzner for Ashburn. Look into Greencloud for the other locations as well as Racknerd.

  • Dallas, low latency to the entire country

I would say Dallas and Ashburn, for price, and low latency connection.

  • Dallas IMO

  • Fourth(?)ing the recommendation to go with the Dallas area. Atlanta is pretty solid, too.

  • Alaska.

Ashburn is pretty bad latency to the west coast in my experience, the physical distance is just too far. I wouldn't suggest it if it's your only location in the US, if you're concerned about latency at least.

Gonna echo the sentiment for Dallas, with Kansas City and Chicago being close runners up.

Amateur deploys in only one location.
Physically strong people deploy in multiple locations.

The push-ups delivery network, USA locations:

    • Seattle, SpartanHost
    • Dallas, Nexril
    • Chicago, GreenCloud
    • Miami, VirMach

We have 20ms latency to most of USA.

    Having nexril discount anywhere?

    I pay 24 push-ups setup fee and $8.40/year recurring.
    CPU and storage are fast.
RAM is only 1GB and it's getting tight.
I'm uncertain whether to renew this one.

  • Ashburn, it's the Data Center Capital of the World.

  • Dallas and then Chicago

I'd say no. Distance does not always equal latency. Larger hubs peer to more providers. Chicago, Ashburn, and Dallas are my top 3. Kansas is popular because it's cheap and central with decent latency, but not the best peering which can hurt latency. I'd actually pick Secaucus, New Jersey and Seattle before I picked Kansas, for more reliable top tier peering to the US.

Are you looking for a dedicated server, or a VPS in Ashburn?

I can't comment top 3, however I have little vps from https://hosting.gullo.me/hosted there and it's perfectly fine.

  • Took hetz for a ride in ashburn. Perfection.

It really depends on what your usage is for.
For example our New York location on the other side of the country in Oregon I get 76ms. To Seattle we get 60ms. To LA it gets 59ms.

This is quite acceptable for a lot of things while still giving a very decent connection to Europe. LA/Seattle gives a good connection to all of America and half decent to Asia.

So it really all depends. Dallas I would pick over Chicago personally in regards to a more central location.
