From china to access the "outside world"?
It depends on the ISP they use, i got some China customer who are able use my free PPTP
SoftEther is not completely reliable.
OpenVPN works for sure on non standard ports.
L2TP is questionable.
PPTP could be considered to be a unreliable protocol as I've heard some points of bring blocked.
Yup, outside world.
Damn, let me find how to teach him to install openvpn on an iphone hahaha
Anyone have a working openvpn server? Just for a week. If not, tonight i will install it on one of my servers
Thanks!
@johnlth93 Using China Unicom?
We provide China KVM VPS.
I can share my, if your friend won't abuse it. It's in Sweden. if that's okay, PM me here or write email to alberts[aet]exs.lv
@Makenai email on the way
Make us a promo code or a different plan so it's below $7, and not at $18.
L2TP + IPSec could work ok and could give you pretty good reliability (won't work on OpenVZ though).
Can try VPN Gate Project, hosted by a Japan university, I think. But it will take some time to test to find out which one is working...
If not mistaken yea.
Blocked awhile ago.
Interesting, details please.
@Makenai just found out I had Softether installed, and will try with my build. Will test your file if mine doesnt work. Thanks!
@Increhost it seems l2tp is not working.
TOR?
@Infinity580 tor is a lot of technology for my friend.
Conclusion:
It worked using Softether's implementation of OpenVPN using a non-standard port.
Thanks!
You can also check BarbaTunnel
I'm using PPTP & L2TP/IPSec VPN in china OK, but not stable, randomly break down by unknown reason. i have built my own private VPN "system"(about 7~8 nodes all in west coast with radius managed), if you'd like try, just PM me.
looks good!
softether l2tp is working fine for my parent.
pptp is ok on my home (China Telecom...)
are you aware if this is at standard port level or just protocol level ?
maybe it was his wifi, bc he tried l2tp and pptp and it wasnt working.
@netomx I have a lot of VPN servers (PPTP,L2TP/IPsec & OpenVPN in multiple places)
