Hm nice. But weren't you guys closing the old specials and increasing the prices? I have an annually paid VPS that I'd rather keep but not worth it if you're increasing its price.

If you're paying yearly that means you're on a legacy VPS. We didn't increase the price of any legacy plans and I don't think we are going to.

    Excellent. Good news then!
Yeah it's an OpenVZ one sadly.

  • I almost pulled the trigger on the 2gb box, but noticed the OS options were quite outdated. Any chance you might be able to add Rocky 9 (or 8) or its equivalent like Alma?

    I don't think it's available for VZ7

Love ramnode! I have a service since 2013, totally worry-free!

    Waiting for the KVM sale!

  • I definitely love your service but there’s one thing that could be improved: would you consider offering /64 of ipv6 subnet on your openstack platform? In my case this is the only reason that I paused using your service.

@nessa care to comment on this?

there seems to be a growing trend of bad faith actors organizing and attacking sites/platforms that they dont agree with by flooding them with either illegal content and/or content that goes against a providers AUP while giving website owners almost zero time to react and moderate accordingly.

it seems one of these sites (rDrama) was/is hosted at ramnode and has fallen to this tactic.

As a website owner, you are supposed to either moderate all user postings before allowing them to be seen by other users, or have 24/7 moderation team that monitors user postings in real time and delete any objectionable content.
You should have known this when you applied for your Internet Content Provider license that permits user generated content.
When the hosting provider or police calls you, it's already too late.

  • I just cancelled my yearly Ramnode VPS few weeks ago because of ancient package with 256MB RAM I had for 8 years or so didn't justify the price I pay anymore and I would take this refreshed offer in a heartbeat if it would be recurring.

Three years come around quickly while I prefer to stay with my stable hosts long term but at some point paying full price for by then outdated package isn't worth it. If it would be recurring... (@nessa hint :P )
