us OVH vps additional ipv4 subnets.

I have a vps setup with ovh and need a /29 subnet, but all I see when I go to order in the manager is for /32's.

Is this expected, and if I order 8, will it be contiguous and able to be treated as a /29?

No, they will be randomly allocated from different subnets.

  • randomly

  • They are supposed to be random. Many times I've ordered 5-6 additional IPv4 in quick succession and gotten them from the same subnet, often contiguous. Like for a US VPS, very unlikely anybody would be ordering IPs at 3am, so maybe try during odd hours.
