Where can I get a ASN and /48 pi for quite cheap

Hey all.

Looking to register as an ASN and get a /48 ipv6 for testing and learning how all that fun networking works.

Does anyone know where i can get this for a one off cost rsther then reoccurring?

  • consider using EVE-NG, DN42 for learning network?

  • I have already but i prefer actual real world testing and seeing how it will all link together in production style

Check out Route48.org, we can help out with IPv6 Subnets, as well as on our Discord have a number of LIRs that can help you getting an ASN :-)

You may have a look at THE AIO IP Related Thread.

As established RIPE LIR I can certainly help with IPv6 and ASN registration as well, but as some work is involved and everything is handled personal and manual on my side, I probably won't meet your expectations of 'dirt cheap'. However you will receive full personal support (regarding RIPE-related stuff like IP subnets, RIPE DB, LoA, RoA/RPKI, rDNS, etc.) which my existing long-term customers appreciate.

Some discounts might be possible for students or when combining IPv6 leasing and ASN sponsoring but as some recurring work will be required for the maintenance, it won't be sustainable with just a one-time fee to also cover the increasing yearly RIPE fees.

If you are interested, feel free to contact me directly or find more information on my website:

Just for fun: How much would getting an ASN and a v6 block cost in dollars and pennies?

.. but we do not do one times … 50 EUR for ASN plus 25 EUR per year for IPv6 of any size.

For you: if you decide to go with us, I will waive the first year of IPv6 lease ;-)

Small disclaimer: we only service in the RIPE NCC service area.

Does that mean only European can buy asn and ipv6 from you???🤔🤔🤔

I have seen a massive influx in requests from Asian countries who wish to use resources out of region, and tend to try and negotiate our low pricing even lower.

We, therefore, have been strict in accepting new requests. The entity has to be from RIPE NCC area. We do not sponsor those out of region who (falsely) claim to run a network (exclusively) in RIPE NCC service area.

  • Thanks all, i got an ASN sorted the folk over at route48 are quite nice. Although i will be sure to check you out for a future project @RickBakkr.

Out side the topic of ipv6.

Can anyone lease me an ipv4 /24 for a month or two for a low price. I wont be using it as a relay for mail or anything. Simply to see if i can announce it and then meas around with it for a bit.

It is, lots of great people in the Route48 Discord. Do note that this is advertised as "for education, learning and research" so don't expect enterprise-grade support.

I am also interested, but why would you drop traffic going to China and North Korea?
Also it seems like you do not have a LIR/Provider tag.

Drop by the Discord and see/decide for yourself, besides they aren't the only LIRs that hang out there.
