Hetzner US vps vs PHP-Friends EU vds?
For low to medium traffic websites that are rich in text and photos, but not much video stream. server side is majorly php/ror/django/java/next/nuxt. Targeted audience are majorly in US.
Hetzner Ashburn CPX41 has 8 cores 16 gb ram, PHP-Friends L VDS has 8 cores 40 gb ram, similar price.
Hetnzer US vps has shorter ping time, yet PHP-Friends vds is dedicated cpus, rams, and THE 1 gbps port.
Which one to choose?

Hetzner's port is at least 1Gb/s. For me with Cloud servers it's always been better than 1Gb/s, usually 2-3Gb/s.
I really like Hetzner Ashburn vps's speed. For US W, it is about 1-1.5 seconds, for US E, it is about 0.5-1 seconds. I think you are right, its vpses have big pipes.
Bad or good?
In your case I vote for Hetzner..
I think the selling point here for Hetzner, other than geo location, is the cloud features, things like readily available tools to build k8s clusters, managed load balancers, block storage, APIs for management, manged firewalls, etc.
What about netcap?
I agree. Hetzner Ashburn is really competitive in US. Only OVH US is close, but still priced as about twice higher.
And as you say, Hetzner cloud control panel is much more feature rich than PHP-Friends and NetCup.
I like Hetzner cloud's snapshot a lot, making transferring sites a blink.
Which one are you referring to? Are they different from
Netcup ?
I am still testing NetCap. At the beginning I was asked to provide my id with me holding it. Later they called me and I am in.
From the specs, NetCap VDS is not as competitive as PHP Friends. PHP Friends vds is about 20-30% cheaper, has NVME, and dedicated 1 gbps port. NetCup vds has 120 TB/m premium bw, but if the shared pipe is not big enough, this premium quality may not be good. This needs real world test.
NetCap's vps is cheaper than Hetzner's, but NetCup vps is ssd, not nvme, although twice as the space as the Hetzner and PHP Friends. Also NetCup vps has 80 TB/m premium bw.
I hope that netcup comes with nvme based vps and vds, because I realize that there is huge improvement using nvme than using ssd/hdd, at least for my websites, in addition to the shorter ping distance, and the larger vps. I think nvme is a very critical thing that I have not realized before I tried Hetzner Ashburn. But I don't do strict experiments, just this kind of user experience.
