Anyone tried transferring from Hetzner's vpses to its dedis?
using the following command in rescue mode

Well if it's a dedicated server it won't be /dev/vda but /dev/sda* or /dev/nvme*.
But you should better use Clonezilla, should take care of some stuff for you.
That may very well work, especially older BIOS booted servers. If its a server with NVMe that requires UEFI, you may be out of luck.
will clonezilla work even if two servers have different cpu, ram, disk size?
CPU and RAM are the last thing you should worry about, those will be always interchangeable.
Regarding disk size - it depends on a few parameters, but generally it will give you more options.
