something weird happen to my VM. sometimes my VM IP connecting to another VM. maybe @VirMach assign 1 IP to 2 VM? is that even possible?

i still can do ssh even when i killed the ssh service, but of course i got wrong password error because it's not my vm.

    IP: 149.57.135.56 (LAXA018)

the thing which frightens me most is that is eems as virmach dies not seem to have any sufficient monitoring of his own nodes.
or some proper status page of some sort, they reported german host nodes "restarts because of bad io" like 1.5 weeks ago, no update since.

at least file proper outage reports and supply an eta

@VirMach Really, this is a crazy migration, I have three vps with you and I could not connect it during 10 days. Solusvm control panel can not control it for anything, my tickets don't have any response. Im feeling so bad with your service

    Which nodes are you on?

    SEAZ009, LAXA031 and LAXA014

LAXA031 is working. Not sure about the other nodes.

    @VirMach
My VPS on LAXA031 is offline again.
I cannot access via VNC or SSH.
Actually it even does not respond pings.

    The troubleshoot returns

If you contact support, provide debug data:

    Main IP pings: false
    Node Online: false
    Service online: offline
    Operating System: linux-ubuntu-20.04-x86_64-minimal-latest-v2
    Service Status:Active
    Registration Date:2016

That's interesting. Mine is online and working but when I run troubleshooting, it says:

    Main IP pings: true
    Node Online: false
    Service online: online
    Operating System: linux-ubuntu-16.04-server-x86_64-minimal-latest

Everything works and I moved one site back to it. Maybe I acted too soon? But it has been up since it came online.

Is Ubuntu 16 installed with the billing control panel or with the solusvm?
I was using Debian 9 and it has arrived the end of life last month.
So, I tried to install Ubuntu 20.04 whose eol is 2030.
I installed Ubuntu 20.04 from solus, but it did not work.
Then I tried to reinstall with the billing control panel (which has a limited re-install times).
Then I lost my connection to the VPS with neither ssh nor VNC.
The IP did not respond ping, and the VNC returns 1006 error.

The server is running Ubuntu 20.04. I assume the "Operating System" part is from the initial installation (which I did from the billing control panel 2 years ago).

Try installing Ubuntu 16.04 from the billing panel then manually upgrade to 20.04.

Unfortunately, re-install Ubuntu 16.04 does not work either. Actually, any reinstallation can fix the problem I guess. The control panel seems lost connection to the VPS.
Hours ago, I "reconfigure network", it returns scheduled restart. Now I repeat reconfigure network, it returns reconfiguration successful. The true condition is

My VPS on LAXA031 is back online again. Now everything is working.

    @VirMach

Something weird happened with one of my VM on node SEAKVM11. The node was locked yesterday, so probably the VM has been migrated (I not received notification about it). And now if I try to check the VM details on the WHMCS, it's totally "empty". NO node name, no hostname(disappared), not assigned IP addresses, no VM specifications. When I try to open the SolusVM panel, it provide also an error: "Error 521, Web server is down" (by CloudFlare).
    https://i.ibb.co/RTLL00T/2022-07-11-150250.png

Anyone else have a similar experience with this old node / migration process?

  • Hopefully this fixes the control panel issue with LAXA024. My other servers are more stable now (LAXA006 up for 7 days, FFME001 up for 4 days)

I mean SolusVM runs half of the shit there (or even more) - you don't expect everything working in WHCMS when Solus is down for maintenance - basic billing things probably works, but those that rely on SolusVM won't and it's expected, isn't it? :-D

Honestly I focused only this VM, node. I checked the network status page, but searched only node names and location directly. and not checked any other deeper. (When I went to sleep the node was locked and wanted to find out what happened with it). It's an unlucky situation, because the VM maybe online now and they assigned a new IP but I can't find out (without notification email). Thx for the answers!

@virmach it has now been over a week that my server on DALZ009 has been down with zero communication from you.

That's over a week of service, that I paid for, that I am not getting. And I am not alone.

You need to address your customers. You don't have social media to complain to. Your tickets have gone unanswered. Your status page doesn't save its history or update in a timely manner. YOU NEED TO COMMUNICATE.

How are you going to resolve this? When? What will you offer your customers that have been impacted by this?

Seriously close to pulling our multiple servers if something is not done or you continue your radio silence. Please. Say or do SOMETHING.

P.S. it is not and should not be our responsibility, as customers, to jump through hoops and read 50+ pages of a forum just to fix our servers. Not our job. It's yours. There is no reason we should be doing your work for you.

No need to be quite so silly and quite so melodramatic.
This is the first huge migration event and most disruptions there's ever been.
And still the majority of things did migrate relatively smoothly and are working.

Yes there's been lots of unexpected hick-ups, and still some things that need to be fixed, but everything is being worked on and sorted out at a far quicker rate than most realise that only focus on their single or few non working VM's.

Things were great before and will be great again, just be patient.

And those that feel they can't be patient and wait for everything to be sorted and needs to leave, then that's also fine. But no need to get overly dramatic. :-)

    Stay calm. And idle! :-D

Six hours later the IP info is back, but all the OS images have been removed under the VPS Control panel "reinstall" button. The RYZEN compatible most recent releases have gone 'poof'. Had two servers that have been turned off awaiting a need, now the ability to provision them for use will be decided by useable OS images being offered again. Hey, now I know what a successful DDOS attack is like from the receiver's side -- a unusable server :*

Well this is a new one for me. One of my servers migrated to LAXA019 with a new IP, but there seems to be another server already on this IP. Clicking fix networking in the billing panel lets me connect briefly, then the connection is dropped and a different server is responding instead, with my client warning me the SSH host key has changed. Clicking fix networking again repeats the cycle, letting me connect briefly each time before another system takes it back over. Anyone have any thoughts? I know there's mention of some possible hardware maintenance on the node, but this didn't seem like something related to that.

This is the third time my IP has been banned when all I'm trying to do is see if my DOZEN VPS's are functioning. Your message states I had 74 FAILED login attempts when I have NO failed login attempts. I pass the recaptha, then I put in my 2FA and I go right on in, there are NO failed login attempts. I'm on a linux laptop with no windows virus or malware. I have checked MAYBE a dozen times today but the VirMach customer portal is garbage. Absolute GARBAGE. I have several VPN tunnels so I have plenty of other IP's to use, but this is the last straw. Your careless treatment of a loyal customer WILL not end well for you. I have put in one cancelation and there will be more to come. Just bought 5 more from other vendors. There will be a migration allright!!! Away from the arrogance and incompetence. There's a price for grief and aggravation. Remember, I'm PROFIT and you're OVERHEAD. Profit is going elsewhere.
