paste bin like via-ssh [no web used]?

I've seen a friend ages ago do some commands on his terminal to paste his codes on some site, and the site generated a link, he copy and auto copies and he paste it quickly, I would ask him what it was, but he's not around,
anyone know what I am talking about or easier methods

Anymore? [and @bauhaus, looks nice but the support for hosts is not (doesn't look)- solid, reading the main website] didn't test it 100%, just ran my eyes around it.
