Is Proxim.Cloud dead?
in Outages
Hi everyone!
I have a site hosted with Proxim.Cloud, but today it went down while displaying this:

Same goes from Proxim.Cloud's own site.
Does anyone have any clue or direct contact to the owners/support that I can reach?

Hello, dear friend!
As a customer, do you not have contact details? Surely you have email addresses or similar?
Never heard of them.
Never heard about them
Never heard of them. Seems like you got screwed by someone noone knows.
I have never heard of them, but they might have forgotten to pay for their Host4Geeks reseller plan.

So all becomes clear - as these are LowEndBox offers, it make utter sense that no-one in this fine community has ever heard of them.
Just like everyone else - never heard.
But here:
Good luck.
I would strongly suggest contacting ‘Vacant’, must be a very strong-minded individual with a name so unusual.
Thanks everyone!
As stated by @dane_doherty, it was announced previously on LEB, hence the reason for me to subscribe it.
Reached all the email addresses, including [email protected] which I believe to be the main support contact address, and only this one and Ben's haven't bounced back with "Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table". Let's see.
Best of luck good Sir, and welcome to our fine community! I hope you will stay once this awful matter is resolved.
Also, almost everyone here despises LowEndBox as it is the proverbial turd in the apron, so do not be surprised if we have never heard of the hosts who make offers there. Most LowEndBox only providers are considered to be, to use the vulgarity ‘fucking scammy scumcunts’.
I do apologise for such language, but it is important you understand that LEB is a fucking shitfest.
Enjoy your time here, toot-toot!
Curious, thought the site and this forum were interconnected.
Anyhow, since I'm here, any recommendation for some cheap (but trustworthy) CPanel + WordPress hosting?
You can try the phone number and gmail in proxim.cloud's whois information.
Or ask the Englishman to knock on his door in Dorking.
Have a look in https://lowendtalk.com/categories/shared-hosting-offers.
They are owned by the same person, that much is true, and the owner charges money to providers operating in forum so they may make offers in order to fund the development of LowEndBox.
The members of this fine community however hold LowEndBox in very low regard, so many are unaware of the offers and articles posted there.
I'm surprised, as Proxim.Cloud gave us multiple LEB offers, Ben was always easy to deal with, and there weren't any significant complaints about the service.
I can only conclude that their move from a $1.12/month price point (April 2020) to a $1.13/month price point (October 2021) was fatal.
Do you have any other contact method by which I can reach him? MP if you prefer.
There is a gmail address in their WHOIS - I will PM you. The only other email I have is a @proxim.cloud email which per the earlier posts isn't working.
Oh, I suppose we can also tag @ProximCloud
Are LEB and LET connected? Yes. Do many people in this forum actually look at the companies that offer hosting on LEB? Not really. LEB seems to be a gateway for many providers to "start" offering hosting at really cheap rates and I know LEB postings get scraped, translated, and then propagated to other corners of the world/languages/etc.
I visit LET for the comments. I don't keep tabs on who posted offerings on LEB as I'm not as interested in most suppliers there (it seems like there's a lot of noise in LEB offer postings that don't really interest me. An interesting meta-analysis could be what's an average lifespan of a host that advertises on LEB and then deadpools or leaves this market segment) and I already have a small group of providers I actively work with if I need new hosting at affordable rates.
Not much of a shared hosting guy so I can't really say. LEB/LET has primarily been VPSes so I can give you more insight there, but for shared hosting i'd suggest listening to others here who are more versed in that market.
Simply:
Dear moderator, I am aware this was once the case, but as I hope you can see I have turned over a new leaf and treat this community with the utmost seriousness following a discussion with one of your fine colleagues.
Pretty much. Elegantly said.
By the way @raindog308, I appreciate and recognize the increase in quality in posting and content on LEB. Great job. I don't really read the offer posts and glaze over them, but the other posts are a bit more interesting and I've seen a big improvement from 6 months ago. Props to you and rest of the team for that.
@speedypage is absolutely fantastic, been loving my services with them so far.
Thanks for the tag! @LiliLabs
@DaxPierson You can find our shared cPanel hosting plans here: https://speedypage.com/web-hosting - we offer free of charge BunnyCDN as well as the BunnyCDN Optimizer (usually $9.50 per month extra) in addition to other features such as Daily Backups, MailChannels Email Delivery, LiteSpeed etc.
We're probably a bit more expensive than the average LET host selling plans at the literal license cost of cPanel - but we believe you're actually getting what you pay for with us in terms of our features as well as (in my opinion) brilliant support who will actually go the extra mile to fix problems for you.
Use code LET20OFF for 20% off any plan :-)
In the spirit of good fellowship, I feel compelled to point out that I was merely drawing attention to your celebrated capacity for dextrous mirth.
Oh Sir, you are far too kind and I must confess, I long for the day when you throw off the shackles of that other place and join us back full-time in this fine community, in shenanigans and tomfoolery just like the old days.
Looks like their site is back up now?
e: Something is wrong with their status page, though, SSL error
Shenanigans and tomfoolery...and perchance you are proferring ribaldry...?
Sir, you always know what to say to make me melt.
Hi all,
Thanks for tagging me in this @raindog308
I can very much confirm we are not dead and are still operational. We had some minor difficulties over the last two days with providers and with the added bonus of me having some personal health issues didn't mix very well. We will be spending time over the next week to ensure incidents like this do not repeat and will be implementing fall-back solutions.
I wanted to apologize for any issues or confusion caused to the community and most importantly our valued clients. Following from this, anybody who was affected by the recent issues please do email me: [email protected] or open a ticket on our billing site: https://proxim.cloud/billing/submitticket.php and I would love to offer my personal sincere apologies and offer some compensation.
Thank you very much,
Ben.
ProximCloud.
