Woot, I just migrated a 2GB RAM Pro+ LITE KVM Lite in Dallas to a Ryzen 9 3950X in Denver.
O/S installation via ISO from the billing panel went flawlessly.
Now I have at least one VPS in all your locations again. :)
    Thank you @VirMach

Very nice, now I'm getting clickbaited into viewing the same message requesting an activation.

Except the best part is that you were already activated. Why are you making a guest ticket? Log in to your account and go to the services tab. Is that a difficult matter?

So this is not a difficult matter

I get this on small/cheap Black Friday specials. I think this means that they can not be migrated at this time.

Don't start submitting tickets asking when, or it's just going to piss off VirMach, and he will take the button away.

These are definitely better nodes. Better processor, and I redid the entire cooling setup for them, etc.

I'm going to start cancelling and refunding these at this point if they're still mentioned. I'll assume you do not want to wait, otherwise you should already know at this point "when" and "why."

@VirMach Looks like the migration system accidentally added an additional IPv4 address to my VPS. Now I have 2 IPv4 addresses. Can you remove the additional one ending with 129 (invoice 1400514)?

Removed, thanks for letting us know, we've doubled your bandwidth! And your RAM! Reboot for it to take effect. Anyone else please do not report this problem, we're aware now and we'll go through and take back our IPv4's at an undetermined time.

@VirMach I think the wrong root password is being sent via email after migration.
I have migrated twice and both times the root password was invalid. (Tokyo -> Tokyo -> Tokyo)
I don't know if I should put the node number here, so I put the product ID 653915.
And current root password is the same as it was in the email. (GeV1e3...)
Check them if necessary. Of course, you can also erase data ;)

(edit) I understand how to reset root password myself.

Anyone got a bench for Amsterdam? Considering some storage there and wondering what the network is like... B)

  • @tototo If you can't fathom out how to reset a root password yourself, then perhaps a VPS is not for you (and others!).

So you're encouraging everyone to move to new nodes?
Old nodes will stay inferior forever? or old nodes host less amount of VPSes to keep performance similar.

We'll run XMRig on the new nodes so they have a performance penalty and they remain equal to the inferior nodes.

There are a lot ARP packets cause 500kbps inbound traffic on Tokyo node.
In other words, 5G bandwidth per day or 150G per month.

This may be true, but do ARP packets show as counting against you transfer allotment in the billing panel? If so, with the huge transfer allotment VirMach has given us for an Asia VPS is this really something that is going to bother you that much?

Buy a second VPS just like the first one and you will have double the cores, double the RAM, double the disk space, and double the transfer allotment, at double the price.

But no, these can not be stacked. :sunglasses:

You’re exactly right, thank you for your advice.

Hey @JabJab Let me know if you get AES-NI & VM-x/AMD-V CPU pass thru enabled when you install from ISO first. I did the old Debian 6 template trick first to unlock before installing from ISO. The Debian 6 did not boot of course, I just did it to enable CPU pass thru. Just want to know if this is needed for the future installs.
