Low Spec VPS Request
Hi,
I am looking for a reliable VPS provider that offers a very-very basic VPS instance, something like 128-256MB Memory 3-5GB,one IPv4 address and if possible somewhere in Europe (Germany, Netherlands). Budget: €5-€10/year.
I just want to run a VPN instance (WireGuard). I am also not looking for a NAT server because I'm not sure how to deal with the shared IP4.
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
Regards

https://virmach.com/special-offers/, but if you can suit yourself with a NAT VPS (just change the wireguard port to the range offered to your VPS), look at @WebHorizon or @Cam.
Even if it is a NAT VPS, in most cases, running this script and specifying the port number and DNS will complete the Wireguard setup.
(If you choose NAT VPS, maybe you need to change the
Enable TUN
check to ON in the VPS control panel)https://github.com/Nyr/wireguard-install
If UK is fine we can offer you a 10G shared VPS for ~€10. It’s on the OVH network
Setting up WireGuard in NAT VPS is as easy as a regular VPS. Choose Debian OS and just run the below script. It will ask you which port to use, just specify any port from the ports allocated to you by the provider.

We even got a guide based on Nyr's script: Setup Wireguard on a NAT VPS
Both Germany & Netherlands are option https://my.webhorizon.in/order/main/index/nat
Look at my LittleVZ plans too! They come with a dedicated IPv4 address too!

If you have an OpenVZ provider that doesn't enable TUN/TAP kernel module and you want to configure OpenVPN/Wireguard, there's nothing you can do, no workaround, right? I would be cautious about picking OpenVZ for a VPN server because it's a lottery whether your provider has that module enabled.
In my experience, almost all do
I think you need scaleway.
Please point us to
scaleway
offer that fits OP criteria.I recommend @Cam for all your self-hosted VPN needs.
Are you on ket?
@mxmla offered somewhere KVM for 12 euros per year in Netherlands which would be good for your use case. You can ask him.
There’s no workaround for Tun I believe however there are kernel requirements that are needed but can bypass using wireguard-go,

@emperor Thanks for mentioning!
@untitled Send me a PM and we can figure something out in the Netherlands!
Forgot the OP needs an IPV4 address, my mistake, my proposal was wrong.
Thank you so much for the quick replies
@Cam from hosting.gullo.me - I've found something in France, a NAT IPv4. Will I be able to Enable TUN on the server?
Could you please send me a Test IP, so I can check the speed (ping).
Thank you
Tun can be enabled from the SolusVM control panel. All of my NAT hosts can be found here, along with their IP’s

There are many you can check those, I think it deserves for the price IMO.

Doesnt proper wireguard setup requires kernel module? Have do you plan to have it on OVZ or any shared kernel setup? If it skip the module then what's left from WG in that setup? Might was well run any other vpn.
There are a version called wireguard-go. WireGuard module implementation via Go language which can run on openvz. Efficiency may be slightly reduced. You will never notice that small different anyway.
I have a 128MB OpenVZ VPS from Gullo in France for some weeks.
Boringtun works fine and stable.
Install via
https://github.com/Nyr/wireguard-install
Just choose one of the NATed Ports instead of the default port.
Boringtun has a memory Footprint of 6MB reserved and 16MB virtual, with - in my case up to five clients connected the same time.
With nothing special else running, free shows 17MB used, 110 available. And the CPU more or less idles.
Short: Especially if mostly for Wireguard, I recommend @Cam. No downtime, no lags noticed, the server was online less then 30 Minutes after ordering. Good invested 2€.
Now I hope that a 128 MB or 256 MB VPS in Germany will be back in stock for me to order soon.
check @mikho
Can you post
wget -qO- bench.sh | bash
outpout?Here it is.
Thanks. Network speed sucks but that CPU chace value is nice.
