Yes, they have improved large backup handling somewhat, but I would not recommend it for >500GB backups. But AFAIK it's the only free backup program out there with a GUI, and it is easy to set it up to use Cloudflare for free egress from Backblaze. My backup costs are down to $0.15 per month (30GB backed up).
My laptop and my phone syncs with a nextcloud server. That nextcloud server ftps to 3 backup destinations. My other servers send daily backups to the same 3 backup destinations.
Eating my own dog food here. Any server with relevant data on it gets roughly those lines added to its Ansible playbook (using this role) and that's pretty much it.
This makes me curiious actually.. do you back up the borgbase servers themselves anywhere? I wouldn't expect you to backup the backups but what about the core customer data? Where does that go to?
Anyone using https://kopia.io/?
Valid question. No, there are no further backups of BorgBase repos. The data just changes too often. This would need a different architecture.
The core database is backed up to a few additional servers outside BorgBase. Borgmatic allows adding multiple target repos and will send the data to all of them. Works well for cases that need multiple backups.
Yeah, I thought this was the case, hence why I said I didn't expect it hahah. Definitely not a priority at all.
This is really interesting! Borgmatic really is a powerful tool.
I have backups of my data, but I don't have a backup strategy for my brain.
Ask the NSA or CIA. They can help you out! 1-800-FBI-2DAY!
But how can they have backups of my brain if I have been wearing a tinfoil hat and lead underpants? Are you telling me I needed to have thicker tinfoil? I was scammed?
nobody uses tin
What you've been wearing was aluminum foil. Which is much different.
Nah don't try to change my mind with your scientific facts. I know this sphere we live on is flat and that my plutonium underpants will give me a long healthy life.
how do you pronounce alumiunum?
The correct way - al-u-min-i-um - not your fifth world USA speelingz.
i need this translated to 2nd gread american speakins.

I called the number, the lovely young gentleman was very patient after I helped him get his bosses money back after he accidentally refunded me too much to my account and I paid him the difference. So lovely he was, in fact, that I never thought to verify if the money he sent me even was sent to begin with.
Sir he make severe mistake. Please refound in google play card.
Ha, it was a trick question. He tried to fool you by spelling it incorrectly, but you just outright can't read as words are spelled.
The guy who discovered it named it "aluminum" so really, the rest of the world are being conformist cunts. The honour of naming a new element is supposed to go to the discoverer, so I'm going to say, "fuck you, it's aluminum".
You triggered me Timbers
Holy shit, this looks awesome. Are you using it?
Edit: Hmm, supported by Veeam. Seems like this would eat into Veeam customer base, I know my first thought was using this instead of Veeam.
Why nothing in cloud?
YOLO

Yes I am using now. I just switched from Duplicacy. I reallt like it.
Stop shilling this shit, it's Python-based and it doesn't work well at all. You need a LUKS encrypted file, and that's it. Just stop.
Recently moved from restic to kopia. Faster, finer policy controls. Pretty good
