It would be nice since the new kimsufi servers are powerful enough to justify the higher port speed. I wish they would at least go to 250 like sys, and maybe even allow extra IPs and other goodies as well. I don’t think it’s happening though
I dont like it. But thats because i dont like OVHs overall UIX at all. The website is a mess and not userfriendly at all. Same applies to their Backend.
Can't wait to see LE offers with the launch of this. Some kind of real deal.
Have you seen something we haven’t?
TBH merging this did not contribute anything at all. Still same limitations for sys and ks. No new templates or custom install at all. Only that this control panel is worse than ks one. The only thing that we got is only automatic renewal of service.. before was not possible in kimsufi.
@ninzo59 You guys pay your $100 yet, or are you giving up the tag?
How long does OVH take to provision the orders?
All my previous orders with Kimsufi/SYS were provisioned in 15-30 mins.
My OVH account is all verified and validated. Is it fair to expect the same turn around from OVH ordering system? Or am I being too optimistic?
Depends. Sometimes Kimsufi/SYS orders take days or weeks to process. Some people are still waiting for their black friday i7-7700K from SYS iirc.
It mostly just depends on the server/lineup.
Yup, I guess I was tooooooooo optimistic.
With SYS I always received it within 15 mins or so (except for my first order). I always assumed SYS doesn't let you place orders for the configs they don't have in stock or is being restocked. I guess I was one of the lucky few who never had to wait with them.
I thought my experience with OVH would be the same as how it was with SYS, considering OVH would show only the available configs and hide out of stock ones.
But I was wrong. Placed an order for a SYS line-up server through eco.ovhcloud.com and now its stuck in 'preparing your order' stage since last few hours. Spoke to their support team and they advised me the team is trying to procure components and currently there is no ETA.
On the plus side, their phone support team is amazing. My call was answered instantly, didnt have to wait in queue. And the guy on the other side tried assisting me to his best, but he was limited with whatever information he was getting from their supply/back-end team.
This Covid19 pandemic and 'Work from home' thingy has introduced several 'delays' and uncertainties in workforce and supply chains. And I don't want to push their team for a small order as mine. I'll simply wait for couple of days. If I don't get it, I'll cancel the order and try some other provider. No harm done.
+1
I'd like to know how the merge will occur, before it occurs. To be sure this will not cause mess (experience talking).
Being sarcastic, but years ago, OVH split into 3 brands, requiring 3 accounts, 3 managers, and now, all will be merged together again ?
Probably never. These are all "test" servers; people with serious needs (bandwidth, ipv6, failovers, ipmi etc.) will move to full-fledged machines (or better, to the competition)
