Looking for a cheap seedbox with root (or should I say a storage vps with torrenting allowed?)

I had a server on hostsolutions which I set everything manually(rtorrent, rutorrent, ftp server etc.) and it was very fun and educational for me. So I want to do it again.

I am not looking for rock-solid stability.
1 core
512 MB ram
100 GB+ HDD
1 TB+ bandwidth(the more the better)
$2-3/month
would be enough.

I found a similar spec on seedboxws.com but apparently, it hasn't got root and apps are configured from gui. I just want to set my vps manually and live the feeling of sharing while watching rutorrent panel with seeding torrents. And, I'm not sure if it is possible.

PS: I can use credit card and any payment method other than paypal that accept credit card.

They allow torrent at OVH France location.

I am using the pulsemedia 12th anniversary offer, for the first month free. It is good. download 100M/s, upload, emm, to onedrive about 15M/s. A disadvantage is that the speed from it to my home is to low.
BUT THERE IS NO ROOT.however, you can still use command, like manually configuera rclone.

I never cease to be amazed at the combination of "legal" and "torrent" in one sentence.

Exactly. Most "linux isos" are protected by DMCA. DMCA will not protect illegal content.

I don't think seedbox providers would give you root access.

I PMed servarica and they don't have this kind of offer at the moment. PulsedMedia doesn't accept credit card.

I couldn't find any storage package on their website. Do you have any link to that?

I wish my home internet has more upload speed than 10 Mbps.

  • deankdeank Member, Troll

That's more than enough. Go for it.

  • Do people still use OVH to torrent?

  • deankdeank Member, Troll

    Yes because they don't learn.

Paypal is not operating in my country.

When buying crypto with a credit card, it is always higher than the normal conversion rate. Next, I need to transfer it to your coinpayments.net wallet with the transaction fee. In addition, coinpayments requires more crypto than the real fiat equivalent. These extras may be no problem to some but it's for me.
