Dunno how, but let's unite our idling machines against Russia

As the title says, how can we help Ukraine and rest of the world with our idling machines?

Science, mathematics,or something else? Let's ban Russia and their network. <3

What about starting to ban access to/from *.ru hostnames?

Better than be nuked by Putin.

Banning their ISP's to access to the rest of network is a start point.

Generally speaking, I suppose the options are:

    • Track
    • Distract
    • Disable

When it comes to counter activities.

Creating a tracking website where anyone could post military points, would be valuable, provided it gets mass use in Ukraine.

Creating machine learning systems to create noise (emails, messages, phone calls, etc) to anything government driven in Russia would cause some distraction but would be illegal. So maybe finding a way to distract by swaying more Russians towards Ukraine's viewpoint may be better but becomes propaganda machines.

Same legal issue with disabling. But taking down communication methods could slow their progrss but also prevents internal groups from coordinating.

@KermEd it's illegal to invade countries and kill people because Putin had a boner that day.

    Who's next after Ukraine?

I'm not arguing that point, but if you build something that can be used against you, it'll get shutdown. And not everyone is in a safe governmental situation.

You need to figure out how to look after yourself at the same time or your help becomes no-help.

For example, pinging a server isn't likely to do anything really, even if it goes offline. And if you get shutdown after 10mins with your services taken away for breaking a local law then you've wasted an opportunity to find a way to help.

Finding a way to run counter services, legally, that stay in place and grow in power - is much more valuable.

I could give some tangible dangerous examples that would impact the war, but that's a complex topic.

I know what you can do. And only you can do it.

Come out as Putin's ex-lover. Accept media invitations for interviews, and let your imaginations go wild.

  • Honestly this isn't the correct place for this discussion. You want to engage in illegal activities do it on some other forums regardless of the target country /individual

Mention there's tapes of hookers and Golden showers. Media loves that one.
