Anyone in Eu has 1€/TB storage plans?
Hi there
It is not common, I know, but sometimes there are offers for 1€-1TB.
Example of the latest offer I have in mind : 12th Anniversary Community Very FAT32 from pulsedmedia
I also have a 6TB seedbox with them for 8€ that I use for backup.
Are there any other providers in Europe (DE, NL, FR ideally) who have any similar offers with 1gbps (shared is perfectly fine)?
It will be mainly used for storage/backup. So once filled over the first few weeks data will be sitting there, not much transfer monthly except updates.
**Looking for suggestions for around 5-10TB, so exclude huge SX servers from Hetzner, or LW resellers, and looking for something other than pulsedmedia (for diversity, nothing against them)
The cheapest option I have in mind atm would be Hetzner storage box, 9.90€ for 5TB.
**
Anything around same price or cheaper?

Strato Hidrive 1 Euro / 1 TB / month, but only the first 12 months.
Find someone to transfer you a SX64 from Hetzner. 74EUR/mo for 64TB of storage.
Some of their auction servers you can get 40TB for 50EUR.
I was lucky to get SX133 from hetzner market place. Perhaps check that out. It's a great bang for the buck!
@CyberneticTitan for larger projects, yes I have full dedis from Hetzner, backed up on other full dedis. But here I am looking for sth personal for myself for just around 5-10TB only. Don't need huge 40TB, 64TB servers, etc
I took an hetzner storage box recently, I'm using it with cifs/samba and I'm quite happy with it, perfect for my backups, very reliable and cheap
Herzner box is good
What type of speeds do you get with Samba for transferring or reading files?
80-90MB/s so I nearly maxing my 1gb/s connection
Even from outside of hetzner I'm getting a decent 600mb/s
1fichier?
Fuck them I might write a full rant about them later maybe.
Terrible experience for years, several times, I kept telling myself "endure it, it's cheap, you get what you pay for" but at this point I am paying to get myself insulted. So no. Fuck them. Fuck their support, fuck the owner, fuck das storage trash whatever and fuck everyone who works for them, or ever put a single screw in 1 of their server racks. I would rather have sth with proper **SECURE ** FTP for download and upload properly.
Have you tried rclone? Not intended to promote for them, just got my hand on its subscription, and it's rather OK for me
I really want to hear rant, maybe I will avoid investing too much into it
if access from US servers, especially US west, the network speed of "Herzner box" is too slow, no more than 200Mbps, sometimes much less than hetzner vps, only several MB/s, the "Herzner share" is better.
We can offer 50% discount on our backup plans. Valid for limited time only. Contact us for details.
I want to point out that some offers like pulsemedias offer are raid0 where other offers like hetzner storage box are covered by higher raid levels. I depends on your use case but price wise you can't really compare a raid0 offer against a raid10 offer.
+1 for @NetDynamics24 happy with them with their Germany location.
Thanks for the recommendation, contacted them.
Thanks people for suggestions.
@ooowwww Sure, should I open another thread for "drama" (actually not really drama) or post it here? (taking votes)
@hotsnow , idc about US. If I did, I would not be asking for server in Europe. So it's okay, if peering to US is bad.
Thanks people for the net Dynamics suggestion.
@NetDynamics24, I am tempted, 50% off, is extremely encouraging to buy! are these equivalent to Hetzner storage box? Raid? discount can be used with yearly 16% off? recurring? (not complaining, but just asking )
Haven't seen anyone else who can match this low price per TB. Not sure either if you should go for such low prices too, pretty sure the quality will tank randomly.
50% discount is valid for a few more days and it is recurring lifetime. Valid only for annual orders. On top of that, you get two months free. RAID-0 is used with Enterprise disks.
sounds interesting...>
