Problems with high load average, low cpu usage
I'm doing some i/o blocking tasks and also scraping so I have a problem where I have high load averages but low cpu usage. Thought some of you here might be familiar with this type of problem. For example, I can have average load of 4 over an hour but the cpu usage is generally less than 50% on a VPS with 4 threads.
- Is it a problem to have high load average but low cpu usage in a VPS environment? (For the host node/provider)
- What's usually the easiest/best solution here? Do better process scheduling? Move to dedicated? Or maybe I'm just writing bad software and it's just my problem?

Yes, usually the cause is high IO wait, meaning storage very slow..
