Modern looking glass software?
Who likes what looking glass software these days?
We're all aware of @telephone looking glass: https://github.com/telephone/LookingGlass but that's been unmaintained for a number of years. I'm sure someone's forked it and updated it for current PHP, but looking for something modern.

It's not a direkt fork of that you mentioned but for the end user it's working similarly: https://github.com/respawner/looking-glass
Try this? https://hyperglass.dev/
Hyperglass (Demo) is a quite modern looking and full-featured looking glass with support for quite a few different router platforms.
If one is running bird for BGP anyway one can also deploy bird-lg-go quite easily - but it's quite focused on BGP.
Edit: Oops.. too slow ;-)
I spent a minute wondering what a glass software is and why it needs to be modern looking lol.
It's not good.
In Chrome Android, 720x1600 display:
same
I think the ping issue is because the demo is running using completely fake data (and have the same here.. so not related to desktop vs. mobile).
In actual instances of it (for example), the ping command works as expected.
"anybody know of a looking glass app not written in PHP"
Hyperglass looks pretty good!
What needs to be maintained with it? Is anything broken? Software sometimes does reach a point where it could be considered "done". Admittedly, it is pretty basic (doesn't show BGP routes from routers, doesn't let you show multiple servers/locations in one instance) but it seems fine for what it was designed to do (be a basic utility).
HyperGlass is indeed your best bet. MaxiHost has a working instance public at https://lg.maxihost.com
