You can renew previous kimsufis. They did not restrict them to EU people only. Only the 2013 line was restricted.
They stopped all new hardware aquisition until they manage to find a viable way to do business, the old ways of borrowing and expansion came to a grinding halt because of poorly thought promos and a very aggressive way to gather new customers with low priced products which meant the turnover and abuse rate grew exponentially. I believe not only KS2G but other products were sold at a loss, either due to poor calculation or to generate new customers which it did, but at an unsustainable cost in the end.
@Maounique i know, we had this in history, but the joke was good

In short, because their business model is flawed. Who'd a thunk renting out low end servers with an ROI of 3-4 years would be a problem. Could never have seen that coming....unless your eyes were wide opened.
dude move on. A lot of us ordered but got refused. Count yourself lucky to have slipped off their radar.
@cosmicgate He ordered before the restriction was put in place so he should be able to keep it.
@Bogdacutuu: A lot of us ordered before they change the restriction.
Not to mention I am from EU and still got refused because I paid with paypal.
I don't see an issue here. Its the virtually the same as a provider shutting a location down whilst letting customers use the service till the end of their billing period without any refund. Your contract with OVH was for filled, you don't have a contract with them guaranteeing that your service can be continued after your billing date ends.
OVH just sent me this:
Sounds like they are being overly generous by offering you that bonus contract when they don't have to
Indeed! I was surprised!
They aint that bad anymore I guess.. ^^
True. Something is changing. Before you would have not get any reply, they would have simply let it expire and close it. They do seem to reconsider their way of treating customers, even those on the KS line which were considered second class before.
What's the rationale for denying customers outside the EU? Some sort of government regulation or tax advantage? Concerns about abuse from overseas? Doesn't make sense to me...
They had to cut losses somehow. First limited to people from within EU, then 3 per person, then deleted all paypal orders since those were the bulk, so remained only the credit cards ones from within Eu and 2 months later they still cant provide what was promissed.
Wow... I never thought of it like that.
do they really lose? i thought i read somewhere that these servers were subsidized by the government for having "technological ideas" of creating custom "atom" setups. i was leaning into this idea in comparing similar offers by other EU hosts. I thought they were given "grant" by the govt offering this to "EU" persons so that is why the limitation? or maybe it was not like that in the first place... any inputs will be appreciated
many people made up many stories to "prove" the offer is legit and here to stay, but this is the most funny of all
thanks maounique. i also had a friend told me that in singapore the govt does give grants for setting up your "technological ideas". as a side question, how is the planned iwstack in the us?
Well, so far so good, we were promissed IPv6 this week, but didnt happen yet, hope it will happen soon. I hope to have it early next year.
The OVH marketing strategy seems to me, a lot like Cartmanland:

They honestly aren't. When I had the 32GB server in BHS and I wanted to transfer to Constant I waited too long and the server got shutdown just before or in the middle of the transfer (I honestly don't remember) a quick call and they gave me a free week without any extra payment to gracefully migrate away.
