Will I get 24/7 access to the datacenter?
Yes, absolutely. Please note that access will be escorted in some cases. We ask for a 24 hour advance notice in most cases, though exceptions can be made for emergency events.

so does not look like impossible to get in haha

no it's on colocation tab, so technically i just need to put a server in for a month, then i get a free visit :joy:

but knowing dustin, anything technically possible can be made into reality !

(just like racknerd, it's technically possible to have a good company, not oversold affordable servers and quick support but really really hard... but he did it because it's technically possible !)

  • @DeadlyChemist: I wonder how much it takes to get a datacenter tour

There was a post here earlier about someone visiting Hetzner datacenter and creating a vlog / video about it. It was first time I saw datacenter from within.

Here's a 360 view interactive data center tour I came across the other day.

I didn't even know YouTube had fully interactive videos before I saw this.

Daym, i imagine hetzner is bigger than racknerd, but then i dunno would like to visit racknerd more because i am racknerd vustomer not hetzner haha (tho their dedicated ones are cheap... if you have the cash)

Yeah its actually pretty snappy, I'm running a lot of docker containers and a couple VMs so having more cores and more multitasking ability helps a lot.

The YABS with the i3 is with the overclocking settings tweaked a bit but I haven't done anything with the Xeon yet, just stock settings, so we'll see if I can get a little more performace out of it.

Yeah I wish it was a little better quality as I kept trying to zoom in on things to see them more clearly only to just see pixels, but its cool to be able to look around while that guy yammers on.

Just wait until we have content so interactive that you can just walk around like VR and explore the building yourself. That'd be sweet.

not hard to make, all you need is lidar/iphone or tons and tons of photos

if they give me 10h in a datacenter i can take like terabytes of pictures (4k 12 bit raw) and make a 3d scene lol even insert dustin in there haha

What kind of services are you running in your containers? I have a server that runs Plex and a few other services, but they're not in containers. I've been considering separating some services.

Not bad at all! That's a pretty decent upgrade :)

What kind of services are you running in your containers? I have a server that runs Plex and a few other services, but they're not in containers. I've been considering separating some services.

It certainly makes life a lot easier, I just mostly use it to restart containers and monitor health. I use an app on my phone that interfaces with it so all I have to do is just pull that up if I need to start/stop/restart services.

not hard to make, all you need is lidar/iphone or tons and tons of photos

if they give me 10h in a datacenter i can take like terabytes of pictures (4k 12 bit raw) and make a 3d scene lol even insert dustin in there haha

Okay, now we really need to get you in there with your fancy camera!
