Francisco BUYVM - dissapointed
I ordered a 512 MB slice to get a VPN set up for torrenting. At first, it was working great and it did its purpose.
Later on, I needed to get v6 connectivity and wanted to set up a VPN that's v6 compatible on a VPS from them. Even after turning on v6 connection, it still required manual configuration. After a ticket and about 30 minutes, the issue has been resolved.
Skipping to today it was time to make a payment on that VPS. Wanted to go ahead, but instead of paying with Crypto, I wanted to pay with a credit card. Had this option blocked. Went and created a ticket to get rid of the blockage.
Here is the ticket:

Now YOU tell me WOULDNT IT BE EASIER TO JUST SAY:
Please, send a picture of your credit card & id.
Now can this be interpreted as pay your invoice?
Please complete order asap to avoid locks being placed back on with no further discussions.
For me ABSO-FUCKING-LUDLY, so I paid the invoice thinking they meant order and got blocked. What especially made me confused was the fact that the top line just seemed copy and pasted AF.
LET made me believe @Francisco was some kind of amazing host with blazing fast support, and overall amazing features, but for me, this kind of stuff defenedly ain't.
Why couldn't they just say "Please, send a picture of your credit card & id.". Why is IPv6 not good out of the box (BTW I even did a system reinstall). IDK, but now neither do I care.

The time has come.
Sue him. Sue the crap out of FranTech Empire.
Karen told you to not make payments to unpaid invoices, and that we needed a new order placed so you run through fraud checks. It's right there in bold, in your screenshot.
The whole exercise is so that we get a fraud check run to compare details, etc. Those checks don't run when an invoice is paid, rather they're run during initial ordering.
We don't do SLAAC/DHCPv6 at the moment. It's something I'm working on doing, but i've been preoccupied with more important projects.
Francisco
BuyVM is the best. YOU are the problem.
The end is nigh.
If your first purchase was bought with crypto then everything else must be bought with crypto as well. The topic has already been discussed many times!
Fran, people do not read even if it's in bold color.
You might need to consider adding front size 60 instead of bolding.
Well, lets hope it makes more sense.
Basically, if you pay in crypto/alipay/webmoney, there's no fraud checks run, but you're locked to those methods for chargeback reasons.
Swapping to paypal/CC is possible, you just have to ticket and Karen will make an invoice/service order which then gets run through fraudlabs, etc.
Francisco
I finally understand... This is why HTML used to support blinky text
Oh, Gods. That does bring memories....
It was annoying at that time, but people did read stuff back then. I think we need to bring back now since kids are losing the ability to read, let alone think.
Thread and issue resolved, I'm just reserving my spot for the next 20 pages of off topic shit posting and memes. 🍿
Well, you are a meme itself. You don't even live on the isle of Mann.
tbh as not native speaker I would be confused too. Had to read this like 3 times to figure it out. The word new shows up one time and rest of ticket it's a fucking mystery, copy-pasted few times. "Do NOT pay already created/active invoices, please create NEW order." seems much clearer.
also "You will not be allowed to make any payments (...)" seems like "System will not allow it", but you always try to do it to see if system is working or not >:D
It's pronounced Mohn Dew Day
Why not directly add a new proper invoice?
Still doesn't run through fraud checks.
Fraud checks are only run during cart purchase. This is why it's possible to fraud/card hosts that have the 'add funds' option available w/o writing hooks to lock it down.
Blame WHMCS.
Francisco
This. This very much. @Francisco I'm guessing about 50% of your customers come from a non-English speaking country right?
Well, a longer explanation would help.
Your account needs to go through a fraud check if you use any other payment method.
In order to proceed we need you to:
1 - Explitely state you wish to use a new payment method
2 - Create a new account
3 - Pay for a service (some link) using your new payment method
4 - Reply here with the account name and invoice number
Note: this is critical as it will trigger the fraud check we need to perform on any non-crypto account
5 - We will then consolidate the accounts.
Please be aware: we have had suspicious fraud attempts in the past. DO NOT complete the payment on this invoice (invoice #), if you do so, it will be locked without the fraud check and your account cannot be moved to a new payment system.
.... Basically explicite step by step instructions so they don't waste your time and their time. Further if you don't want them paying invoice X, temporarily disable that too, as it will prevent an issue from occuring later
Probably, that doesn't change things though. We get people requesting to change all the time, both english and non english speaking (literally people we have to use google translate with), and its been fine.
I'm sorry it frustrated you, I hope it's sorted.
Please open a ticket if you need help configuring your IPV6 addresses and we'll help you with that.
Francisco
Now, who here believes that Karen is Fran's alter ego?
v6 was solved after a ticket. But the payment method won't be solved anymore, and that's for sure.
Your choice on that one.
Glad Akash sorted your V6.
Francisco
@Francisco To be fair,
".
I also thought it could help to go a bit more into detail there. If the reply is going to be copy-pasted anyway (or at least looks like that), it could be helpful to formulate a more detailed reply-template for this kind of request. The reply also seems to me like very much coming over as "Don't ask any further questions, don't contact us if you fail to understand this. We don't want to help you understand this, in case you are having trouble". The part I am referring to is"no further discussion will be made". This sounds very final and not very cooperative. If you indeed have a lot/some non-native speakers of English among your clients, why not write compose this a bit more friendly and add a sentence like "We are aware that this process can be confusing. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need clarification or have any further questions on that matter. We will be happy to help
I find these kind of issues weird. Running an invoice through a fraud check surely would be a problem solvable with a programmatic solution. I’ve heard enough about this “Karen” person in my short time here that I just have zero interest in supporting whatever business model is and I’m not even remotely likely to be hit by any fraud checks. Seems like masochist level support and I despise it.
It took me some time to realize that she wanted OP to place a new order to pass fraud checks.
Maybe instead of copy/pasting the same sentence "follow the process", she could have paste the actual process as it was a single line anyway..
Is it an IA/bot or something?
She’s clearly someone that doesn’t understand snippets and how you only have to write good instructions once and you can reuse them after.
I only met Aldyric years back and that wasn't a pleasant experience either. Back then it was for sure my fault for what happened to happen but I have yet meet someone that comes over as unpleasantly as them back then. I am sure @Francisco runs a solid ship and he is a well respected member of our community, however it seems with Billing there always seems to be issues going on. For the record, I have never personally had to deal with Karen yet, so I can't comment any further on that one.
Arise, clients of Fran tech empire.
It is time to take down your master.
Yes we believe.
LET is a huge conspiracy.
All the providers, except RackNerd, are owned by @brueggus.
RackNerd is owned by AlphaRacks Perfume LLC, which also owns LET.
The only escape is paying 10x for Allied Web Service, Goggle Clown, or Mikosoft Aztec.
Im a bit confused by the fraud checks at all…. Why fraud check an existing client? You can usually tell if they will be fraudulent orders…
I’m sure you can also fraud check existing clients without the need for a new order?
Because he paid via crypto first time (or one of the others non-refunable ways) that do not trigger fraud checks. He just wanted to switch to other payment method (let's call it chargebackable) and BuyVM wanted to cover their ass to make sure he is real and won't just chargeback
I never had issues with Karen, with fraud checks or anyone else from BuyVM's team. But I agree, without reading thoroughly one may easily miss the point.
