Oh man, that doesn't surprise me, our hardware vendor let us know that MSI had lost a few million in GPU's over container theft at the port. That must be tough to swallow.

As far as giveaways go, we're always creative, never know!

Nice builds! Nice seeing those NVMe's :)

If you could build a better machine, what would you for first? GPU? Or?

The 256GB NVMe is what makes my budget build worthwhile. lol

Unfortunately its a laptop so upgrading is limited but if I were rocking the same build in a desktop form I would probably boost my Ryzen 5 3550H to a better 5 or maybe a Ryzen 7, no real need for a 9 in my use case. My nVidia 1050TI is outdated as hell but I'd probably go to 32 or 64GB of RAM before upgrading the GPU as its not a huge bottleneck for me, I don't need 8k ultra graphics to enjoy a game lol. I just really enjoy a practical computer.

Same with my phone, I rock a Pixel 5 and that is the high side of what I'm willing to spend, no need to carry 3 months worth of rent in the form of a crazy cellphone that could be easily stolen or destroyed.

@BlazinDimes -- Hahaha, totally understand - sometimes a simple life, is one of the best ways to go about it.

Obviously if I could get my hands on a reasonably priced GPU upgrade, I would go that route, but my RTX 3060 is doing me much better than my old GTX 970. I've been contemplating upgrading my Ryzen 5 3600 though.

@Xrmaddness -- I know right, folks are really taking advantage of the situation. Most people are buying prebuilt just to get their hands on GPUs.

I got really lucky, I won the privilege of being able to order my 3060 because of NewEgg's Product Shuffle, but I don't personally know anyone else who was lucky enough to purchase one at MSRP...

Since I don't have a PC, I guess I have to build everything first, lol. If my config is of a PC, I will upgrade GPU and RAM. GPU for my ML training, and RAM to run more VMs. :D

More cores, more threads, more RAM. VMs all daaaaay. Haha

    Ha ha.. More everything.. I

More RAM means more open tabs in chrome... lots and lots of tabs.. I've a very bad habit of opening 100s of tabs. Everytab feels useful, I don't know how useful they are, but just can't close it. Close a tab feelings like I am losing something... And the chrome eats most of my RAM.... :(

    offcourse GPU first :)

    That's important :)
Second, processor, third drives, 4th monitor!!!

Yes but GPU price in my country it is not in accordance with msrp very very expensive :(

  • How do I keep on top of threads like this? Is there an RSS link I'm not seeing, for example? Or do I need to keep it front and center in my browser, pressing refresh? I'm hoping to try to nab whatever deal comes next!

try this in firefox. its sucks. My firefox 2 tabs open uses 3.5 GB RAM, chrome uses below 1GB.
