Managed DNS providers
Looking for cheap managed DNS service provider with good API.
Features need
- Whitelabel NS's;
- Anycast (optional);
- Billing per queries, not zones (shared query pool for all zones);
For example:
https://durabledns.com -- but it seems they are dead/dying.
Comments
dnsimple.com that's quite good from my experience.
dnsmadeeasy.com and easydns.com as the alterneatives.
easydns's Mark is quite nice a people.
Those products are priced insanely high. Currently under review:
dns4.pro
entrydns.net
I need more of this kind, not corporate, overpriced marketing. Thank you for suggestions.
geoscaling.com
cloudns.net
pointhq.com
Building your own platform is the cheapest
Definitely cloudns. It's a really good fit for this community in general. Price, function, reliability.
I've been using ClouDNS for about 3 years now and everything's been fine so far.
Mine's the "Personal" plan which costs about $2/month.
I use digital ocean (about 5 years), completely free. API interface works well.
This has been an enigma to me for quite some time already.
They offer awesome customization option via scripts, but the whole thing appears to me as someone's proof-of-concept project, but I'm pretty sure I'm quite mistaken.
Why do you need it? And what's wrong with CF, Cisco, Comodo, Quad9 in your case?
Personally I use CF. The speed is prem.
Because I'am building project related to web hosting and would like to offload DNS management to third parties.
Not happy with exoscale anymore? I'd still love if they would introduce secondary dns services as well (as dnsimple started that recently and exoscale is based on dnsimple technique.)
Why not just use Cloudflare which has a great free plan and a ton of additional features?
Because
Surprised Constellix hasn't been mentioned yet. It was created by the people behind dnsmadeeasy I think.
Dunno if cheap, but it has lots of features and PAYG pricing.
