Hi
I was clueless what's cheapest cold storage option available??
my requirements is 1 TB space. Apart from team drive option what are better alternatives or what do you guys use for Cold Storage.
I have important 1 TB data which I need to backup online.

I use the C14 "Glacier" tier of Scaleway Object Storage: https://www.scaleway.com/en/c14-cold-storage/
When stored cold you're charged €2/TB/mo, to retrieve you spend a few hours waiting for it to go to standard tier and then retrieve for free via a Scaleway instance or Cloudflare.
Definitely not perfect and there are plenty of alternatives, but the title asked what I use so there you go
This is my cold storage. You are welcome.
Put your hard drives in there, keep that data safe and cold
How about Servarica BF deal they are still available https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/175460/servarica-black-friday-2021-crazy-deals-on-storage-ssd-and-nvme-vps-plans-with-5x-50-giveaway/p1
you would get storage at 2$/TB/mon (not counting compute resources).
Or Opossum if you can deal with IP6-only server
AWS Glacier Deep Archive is $0.99/TB (min 180 days). It wasn't a great option with AWS'es original bandwidth pricing, but now since they provide 100GB outbound/mo (1TB with Cloudfront), it could also be an option.
The IPv6 only cheaper option is long gone out of stock.
The others seem to still be available though.
I don't know about you but I'd prefer a portable one.
Tbh ive yet to see cold storage pricing for data storage that was cheaper than just getting a full vps. If any provider came up with like tape storage or something at a better rate I'd also be interested.
Do they not have retrieval charge on top of the bandwidth? I think that was a pretty big factor in cost last time I looked
I will use the storage to save my personal data as a NAS storage.
https://1fichier.com/
i also have a DS with https://www.hivelocity.net/
Primary Hard Drive
2x 128GB SSD and 1x 12TB HDD
Bandwidth 100 TB on 1Gbps port
Can I ask if you're paying over $100/month for this?
i have had this server for nearly 3 years, it was a black friday deal, as i remember i got the last one, did not come with the 12tb hd that was added over a yeay later, $60 per mo
company was under another name when i got it.
It's $0.0025/GB + $0.025/1K req (bulk). Bulk does take way longer to retrieve, but for archival storage I believe it won't matter much
Did your mom or dad reply to the tweet, "shut the damn door!"?
That isn't really comparing like-for-like. Most services sold as cold/archive storage come with a level of retrieval guarantee that no cheap VPS provider can (honestly) offer.
