SYS (SoYouStart) SYS-1-SAT-32 32GB Ram 4x2TB HDD Intel Xeon D1520 Canada (US account) 1 free month!

Hey I purchased a little more than I needed this BF/CM and I've got a dedicated server(SYS-1-SAT-32 32GB) from SYS in the BHS (Canada) datacenter that I don't need.

Specs:

Intel Xeon D1520 4c / 8t 2.2GHz
32GB DDR3 ECC 2133MHZ RAM
SoftRAID 4x2TB SATA
3 total IPv4 addresses (The 2 extra IP addresses have no monthly fee, they're paid for already)
/64 IPv6
Unlimited traffic @250Mbps (although YABS shows faster ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

I paid 3 months upfront (so there was no setup fee) for $80.97. It's paid through Feb 26, 2022. I just want to get this server off my hands and get a little bit of my money back, so I'm only going to ask for 2 months payment ($53.98), you'll get this first month free! Also, I don't care about the $3 one-time fee I paid for the 2 extra IP addresses, you can just have them.

The catch with SYS I've found out is that you need an account created in the same "region" as mine for the transfer to work. So I think this deal is US only. You must have a login to https://us.soyoustart.com

Here's the YABS if you're curious:

    Have you checked with your support? You can only transfer after 30 days (first month).

    Thanked by 1jupitercity

    The running score of the D series is similar to that of Gold 6240 vps

    Ahh, didn't know that 😞. I've contacted but haven't heard back yet.

    If that's the case, I'll close this thread and come back with another offer in a month.

  • I reached out to their support and actually you can transfer anytime, "As long as the server remains active and not expired on the current account"

  • I've had a few PMs so far, but nobody has followed through yet. 3 things:

    1. I'd like to lower the price for the transfer to $40. That means you're getting 50% of the price of these first 3 months.
    2. I contacted support and after the 3 months I already paid for are done, you can switch to monthly billing.
    3. I forgot to include the age of my disks, here they are:
    $ sudo smartctl --all /dev/sda | grep Power_On_Hours
      9 Power_On_Hours          0x0012   094   094   000    Old_age   Always       -       48821
    $ sudo smartctl --all /dev/sdb | grep Power_On_Hours
      9 Power_On_Hours          0x0012   095   095   000    Old_age   Always       -       37058
    $ sudo smartctl --all /dev/sdc | grep Power_On_Hours
      9 Power_On_Hours          0x0012   097   097   000    Old_age   Always       -       23039
    $ sudo smartctl --all /dev/sdd | grep Power_On_Hours
      9 Power_On_Hours          0x0012   098   098   000    Old_age   Always       -       15852

    Nice, it has 1Gbps on board, I have Canadian account, is it eligible for a transfer?
