[GAME-LE] Poor network performance, should be fixed (or at least better)
Hello,
I know some of you has ordered the GAME-LE from black friday offers.
I saw some feedback about poor network performance.Around 300 Mbps.
It's highlighted as "1gpbs" (non guaranteed) and you should all have had at least 500 mbps stable.
We found issues on our capabilities for this server, it should be better now.
Can you give me a feedback on it and share some BW bench?
Thanks a lot !
Really sorry for this inconvenience.

@ninzo59 any idea when pending orders of KS LE will be fulfilled? Stuck on checking payment manually
that would be great
Official acknowledgement is great but your support described 200-300 Mbps speed as normal for that server in the ticket few days ago no matter what kind of test results was presented.
I hope the problem is fixed now for all locations.
@ninzo59 not sure if this includes older SYS-GAME models but BHS speeds have been quite poor lately
This bandwidth issue on Game has been an issue for quite some time now (a couple of months); it's seems it is not just limited to the LE server(s). Know someone who was back and forth with OVH Canada for over a month since their servers were running at 300mbp/s pretty much all the time, to the point where they just gave up since every component of the machine was basically replaced (motherboard/Ethernet cable etc), just had to be refunded to replace with an old INFRA. The issue needs reviewing on all machines not just LEs as tested on three machines at least over multiple DCs (LIM/BHS) and all of them had an issue which couldn't be fixed so definitely seems to be worth looking into more widely.
I've just received my ordered Game-LE. It has been announced and ordered with 1 Gbit in/out bandwidth. What i receive is by far not what i ordered (Server provisioned in LIM)
From Hetzner, i receive 1 Gbit to all of the above locations, even the US ones.
I just received my refund for GAME-LE but would be great to have everybody same answer to exactly same problem.
I've been on the phone with OVH and they said "yea, Game servers have 1 Gbit but not this one". I mean, why do you label a product "Game-LE" when its completely out of the networking context this product range usually has.
Could you provide me details on how to step back from my 12 months contract? (I've created a ticket for the refund for now)
this is a joke.
Exactly, this is why I asked for refund.
I felt like someone sold me an expensive potato just because it looks like Kiwi.
Im not sure if ovh usually does refund I know that SYS/Kimsufi doesn't refund once OS is installed, if its not 1gbs guaranteed they might just decline I guess
I never had an OS installed. Also in Germany (where i ordered it) we have a law to withdraw from a service within 14 days. I'm not worried it wont get refunded
Usually OVH proceeds with OVH, I have a lot from them but you need to be honest with them. I mean, I never used service for real and then asked for refund and not all orders were refunded. Spent few thousands and refunded about 400 eur, somehow legit, I guess.
EDIT
As a seller, I can mention that digital products have special terms and conditions in EU
That applies to digital copies of games for example, not a dedicated server. Anyway, this discussion leads to nothing because German laws apply. Nothing more to discuss at this point.
No idea what's going on with OVH Gaming servers. I just checked my OVH Gaming i7 4790K I've had for 5yrs from OVH Black Friday, it's advertised at 250Mbit/s when I ordered and was capped there. Then recently checked the network listing in OVH console and lists it as 500Mbit/s but tests show
OVH is very good at hiding stuff on their website and screw the customer. They say "1Gbit unlimited" but because they don't add "guaranteed" it's a 1Gbit "burst" in their eyes. Nowhere on their website they say it's 500Mbit guaranteed and 1Gbit burst.
It's kind of odd because on their INFRA line-up they do make it clear and always advertise with 1Gbit guaranteed and specify a 2Gbit burst. Kind of strange that they hide that information for the GAME-LE servers.
It's frustrating to have SYS GAME-3 with 250Mbps advertised and 1Gbps for real and at the same time GAME-LE with 1Gb on website and under 500Mbps for real..
They probably oversell the network. I asked OVH once if it's possible to upgrade to 10Gbit on the game servers. OVH support told me that the special GAME switches only have a 4Gbit capacity. If they hook up 8 servers on those.... Yeah do the math.

As far I've checked these days, they don't have any GAME server with guaranteed bandwidth (not even 1Gbps).
I have the same issue in their US datacenters. (Less then 500mbit). The few GAME servers that I have left in Europe are fine (Full 1Gbit), but these are not the black friday LE deals.
However their GAME servers are crap anyways. Way too much bypass attacks available for it and if you don't have business support they will not even help you with it.
You would be better off with the new ADVANCE-3 gen 2 servers (Ryzen 5900X)
Update on my part: Just received the refund offer from the sales department. Complete refund onto my original payment method. Case closed for me.
