Any reason why you let it go ??

I even have 8GB in AU and ask migration to HK if that possible because AU routing is bad, and then my ticket never replied yet

No particular reason. HK server has been idling for a year and it's time to let it go. And for SG, it is too much just for VPN.

  • Iirc transfers are not possible (I maybe wrong).

    Thanked by 1Emil
  • Yes hosthatch has stopped processing requests for transfers long ago not sure if that has changed recently @hosthatch mind shedding some light on this...

    Thanked by 1Emil
  • I'll buy the first one. please send me the details

I didn't think so either but it seems they confirmed it already

Yeah. I also read some comments that they were not allowing transfer. Their website is error now. Will attach screenshot of that ticket later.

    Edit:

Like others have mentioned, we are not offering transfers but our support agent did a mistake and offered it in this case (which we will process ofc).

You said a year ago that transfers will be possible soon (last summer if I remember well). Is it still planned but "later"?

    Understood.

@FAT32 Could you please close this thread since transferring HH servers are not possible. Thanks.

Sorry for buyer. Will refund your payment.

You were just told that you can make a transfer - only you. They fucked up, but gonna honor the thing they told you. Think twice if you really want to have it closed :)

What I really mean: Don't make buyer sad, he probably wanted that server and now he will be double pissed off :D

Yeah. No worries. I will just let it expire or renew it.

@Emil I asked twice on ticket #148773 and got responses from different agents.
The first one was transfer fee and the second one was transfer procedure. Both responded yes implicitly.

  • @rooted said: I will just let it expire or renew it.

@Emil told you that for you, the transfer was possible. No need to let it expire!

@Emil said: which we will process ofc

This means: we (hosthatch) will process this transfer, even if we usually don't accept transfers.

As I wrote above, we do not offer transfer of services between accounts.

Will it become possible again in the future? Last year you guys said that this would be possible again soon...

Sorry for confusing you all here. I double checked with the team and while we do not have an official policy that allows transfers, the team still reviews the requests on a case-by-case basis and may agree to it.

I should probably stick to just replying to technical questions. Anyways now you know :)

My case i don't want to transfer it, i just want to ask for migration to better location from my isp, from AU to HK, they both have same price and value as u advertise from last year CM, I even don't mind if i paying for transfer fee, i have 3 service from you, + 1 strorage plan that i just paid and waiting to provisioned

    pls follow my ticket #139543

But if u still not allowing it, just reply my ticket to make me relief, i will just let it go, since my next invoice is tomorrow

I made a mistake. While I was reading the thread and message of add_iT , my browser crashed. Then it became difficult to find his message again. It was a minute before your sale started. add_iT had actually mentioned he had problems of one Hosthatch VPS in SY, AU and was searching one in HK. I remembered he had problems in SG. Thus, I ordered one in HK.
Later, I was searching for his thread. Upon my message, he clarified. I found my mistake.

    https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/175492/black-friday-2021-nvme-and-storage-deals-deploy-in-16-global-locations-apac-eu-us#latest

In the forum I searched for an answer as my support tickets were not answered timely. Someone draw my attention to your message that transfers are allowed. Thus, I ordered one in SG. Now I find that you ask for transfer fees.

Is this true? If yes, how ridiculous!

Overall, I find all these things by Hosthatch to tend not consider problems of its customers. They may be in a situation where one has to find a solution pragmatically, even if it may be at ones costs.

Asking for $10 transfer fee is ridiculous, apart from a downgrade of image of the company. Such transfer fees would be imposed on property transfers but not on rental services. while service charge could be imposed for many things, it is still not a service as under the law, it is a mere cancellation and reorder of the resource to a different (or new) customer.
Now, because of the transfer fees, which I never knew earlier, I feel stupid the second time.

Above all, it is hard for me to gulp. HostHatch has a huge customer base. Why should it even think of compelling its customer to search for a new one, when it can itself sell the service IMMEDIATELY AS A FLASH SALE ON ITS WEBSITE!!! Why would it want to force its customers to spend time in searching for someone and expose the customers privacy?

How do you suggest I get rid of one (Invoice #255223)?

  • EmilEmil Member, Host Rep

@MrWonder, I am sorry to hear you feel that way. I'll do my best to explain.
In the thread that you linked yourself, it clearly says

    Important notes:
All orders are final and cannot be changed or refunded. We have limited capacity available. Please only buy if you are absolutely sure that you would like to use the server.

...and as mentioned, transfer is not explicitly allowed per our ToS, but our team reviews it on a case by case basis and sometimes we do it as a favor, we are not obligated to do it. The $10 fee is not really a way for us to make money, the end result is pretty much the opposite. If we were to allow all transfer, refund, and modification requests on these sales then we wouldn't be able to do them.

Hey buddy, buying these specifically to transfer them makes you an asshole and you've outted yourself on LET so everyone here will know you're a scalping asshole.

  • @MrWonder said: Why would it want to force its customers to spend time in searching for someone and expose the customers privacy?

You bought it. If you don't use it and it idles for a year, it's in the provider interest (they have the cash, and the node isn't overloaded by heavy users). They have no incentive to let you transfer the server to somebody who will actually use it. It's part of the "FOMO" marketing strategy. Some (many?) users will click too fast and order a VPS they don't really need "for that future project" or because "pricing it too good to pass" and the VPS will idle a year. That's what makes low pricing possible. And profitable for the providers, who can use this money as they see fit.

  • SG is it still available?

  • SG still available.

  • For those who are interested, the correct bandwidth for SG is 2TB because paid biennially.
