    @Cam

What do you guys use these for? Other than idling, the only thing I can think of is a proxy. But even then I'd rather go for a $12/yr VPS that actually has other uses.

sometimes you need it for taking, like “i have a vps as low as only $1”

You can probably run a static site (blog, whatever) from that VPS if you put it behind Cloudflare.

But why? You can host a static site for free...

traffic , free hosts have limits , if u get big traffic they will terminate ur account, even gitub will not serve ur pages in such cases

That's quite slow. Any idea why that might be?

It's very slow, even for spinning disks. Which dedi is this btw?

No idea. I'm trying reinstalling Debian and run again in case affected by Proxmox.

This dedi comes from @IonSwitch .

These servers have a pair of 2TB WD Enterprise 7200RPM drives, not sure why they'd be running so slow for ya. If you still have problems please submit a ticket and we can try swapping the drives or moving you to a different node.

Thanks for reply and thanks for @Dwayne and @nvme pointing me. I'm still working on it.

  • i use vps for two purpose for my website and for auto chrome tampermonkey scripts to do some jobs 24/7 . but chromium is shit it use a lot of CPU on linux compare to windows. so good that this black friday i got 3 cpu cores kvm vps . and the problem with windows rdp is that it close session when u exist while xrdp maintain session active even u exit

  • if anyone knows some tricks to minimize chromium CPU usage on linux please share :). currently 3 chromium sessions and 3 cpu cores are above 80%

So it seems the only way to get one of these offers is to already have an account with the provider.

I added the coupon buy by the time I tried to register offer gone.

By the way on a NAT vps who gets port 80?

Not only you'll need to have an account, but also be logged in at the time so that you don't waste time filling in the registration form and can checkout faster :)

Was about to say you should have learned that last BF but it seems you didn't participate in last year's (or you just didn't post anything during that time).

Live and learn, hey at least you know what to do next year or for the remainder of this year's BF.

Just go off of the list on the first page to register for accounts I presume?

Yeah sure, that works now since you have all the providers laid out neatly; but not a few days ago during the start of BF since the sneak peek list was non-exhaustive.

Also, there are some providers that don't allow registration without you buying something first, iirc PM does/did this.

Seems like dataideas is like that.

  • I'm also missing @LunaNode ... are they present for this year's celebration?

You don't get port 80 unless you use something like Cloudflare DNS to redirect inquires to your IPv6 port 80.

It's just one Ryzen. Delivery might take a few weeks.

I could just end up using it somewhere else or just reselling.

You don't get port 80 unless you use something like Cloudflare DNS to redirect inquires to your IPv6 port 80.

Does that require premium cloudflare which costs like $5/m which makes the cheap cost of NAT only VPS moot?

I had two BF-DOLLA-NAT 128MB containers, Germany since 2019 and Canada since 2020.
Use cases were described in this comment.

In 2021-January, I haggled with @Cam and got them combined into one 256MB container.

The combined 256MB container can run Docker.
It was used in the QUIC experiment as described in March push-ups report although it performs worse than 1GB servers.

In 2021-May, I restructured my push-ups delivery network.
The 256MB has been idle since then.

Seems like none of the providers in the sneak peak have Japan...
So this is how we are playing this game @FAT32 -sama eh? Can't say I hadn't expected this

(Misaka seems to have one but I doubt they'd be the one doing this deal)
