@jsg and @Maounique don't forget that @raindog308 is paid to create content that boosts engagement to LET.
None of that is bad, keep that in mind. It's just evidence that @raindog308 is far from impartial and he is only posting because he's paid for it.
Honestly @jbiloh could have got him cheaper, but I digress
Then he can post content, I have nothing against that, I have a problem with his actions as admin here. He should feel free to ban me if his position as content creator is demanding that but the way he is trying to fabricate some reason while tolerating people breaking the clear rules is disgusting.
My point is by keeping you here and provoking you, he is accomplishing his mission of bringing content/traffic for ads.
If he is bending the rules, report him to his employer @jbiloh which in this case is the owner of this forum. Normally reporting to employer is a dick move. Context matters. Think about it..
Ahahah, I didn't think of that. I thought content means articles in LEB, tutorials etc.
Nah, he never liked me and, while he never went as far as making up rules to ban me, he did tolerate and encourage the abuse AFAIK.
I have permission from jbiloh to defend myself, so he can't ban me for this. He must force me to break some rule with these provocations but he won't manage. Jar, aldryic and many others provoked me for weeks, insulted, slandered me in ways you can't even imagine, still didn't manage to make me respond in kind. Raindog won't manage either.
That's not going to stop him from trying to claim credit for the posts you have contributed and the ad impressions it will cause based off the fact he engaged you and made you move by replying. Think like chess..
Now you understand content is not just for LEB.com but for LET and that means creating engagement and most important of all - ad impressions.
The other thing is nobody's required to post or reply to anyone..
I am kind of required to reply when people slander Prometeus and when my demand for proof or at least a ticket to see what was the problem (because his story changed in time) yielded more slander, I did the only thing I could, report the posts breaking the rules.
Of course I didn't expect raindog to do his job but I thought there are other mods out there and they overturned his decision to ban cociu, I thought some people still care for the rules and justice. I guess I was wrong but it wont stop me from trying, especially since I have official permission to defend myself (and Prometeus implicitly).
Cool it down, guys!
I think that @raindog308 occasionally acts imprudently and looking biased but I don't see any reason to think that he is somehow evil or has ill intentions or motives.
Don't forget that we are all humans and humans not only are imperfect but tend to perceive, evaluate, and act emotionally. That's not pleasant but it certainly can - and should - be forgiven.
Would we look away with a cold heart if someone we consider a friend or (all in all) a great person gets attacked? I wouldn't. I think we can (and should) demand from raindog308 to be as unbiased and fair as humanly possible but we also have to let him be a human being and accept imperfection.
Btw, the content he creates (mostly on LEB it seems) actually is quite good. His work as admin is largely pro bono AFAIK.
STATUS UPDATE
My friend and colleague just discovered that finally @cociu isn't just talking but acting. 3 VPSs of him (which already worked yesterday but weren't reachable) have got new IPs from the 188.240.208.x range and (after adapting the configs) are working and reachable now.
The bad news is that the upstream is (crappy) RDS now and connectivity is about 33% to 50% slower than before (Telia).
But hey, at least finally there is some tangible progress.

Yep, very good. I could probably do a bit better but I am a writer.
I would never do such a thing for many reasons:
1. It is jbiloh's job to keep an eye on things. I wouldn't dare to suggest he is not doing it properly;
2. It is indeed a dick move in almost any context (unless he is doing something illegal/dangerous by taking the role of an whistle-blower);
3. It is almost never having an effect. When someone reported some subordinate to me I was going into it trying to find the reasons why my subordinate was right unless I had reasons to believe they were, indeed, up to no good from my long time working with them but, if that was the case, then they didn't work with me for long.
RDS is not that bad (these days). Sure, it cannot compare to Telia at international traffic, but if there is a problem, check for congestion, he probably doesn't have enough BW contracted and it is not RDS's fault (I tend to blame cociu first, RDS only when I have some hard evidence).

Maybe a mix of congestion at HS and RDS being crappy. And yes, RDS is crappy. I've done enough benchmarks to know a crappy carrier when I see one. Ca. 20 ms latency added (looking from FRA,DE) as compared to Telia and plenty packet loss en route on the RDS network.
Look, a cheap provider, such as Cogent/RDS is automatically suffering due to his cheap customers which undercontract and oversell as well as being shunned or asked to sign crappy deals with other carriers for peering.
I can tell that in Romania RDS is the best for a long time (except 5 times more expensive GTS or similar) but it does suffer internationally and, as such, it is normal for you to think it is crappy.
I have a "best-effort" 1 gbps line for home user.

I pay 10 Eur including VAT and ppl get worse from cociu, something else is amiss there.
That may all be so but my focus isn't on RDS anyway but on cociu. And fact is that HS connectivity is seriously crappy now as compared to before.
But then, a working VPS with crappy connectivity still is way better than a dead VPS without connectivity.
All in all I consider the new - and hopefully lasting - HS situation as a very significant progress, plus the very fact that we don't get worthless blah blah only but actually some working VPSs also serves as a basis for modest hope that soon (TM) many, maybe even most HS VPSs will be working again.
I don't dispute that, just that I believe the connectivity is crappy due to some changes he made in the routers, BW contracted, not that RDS is that much worse, i think ht got significantly less BW this time and I can understand that, he can always increase it later after he knows how many customers will remain.
I have credit in the credit system
How to refund the credit to my credit card/bank/paypal?
lol
Mjj style
vps is online again after 9days of downtime
Which subnet? This is an NVME? Which DC was it in?
Just to get an idea if this is nodes that moved to his home city location from the other, or just nodes he had there already.
Francisco
Same! Back up and running
We need a PM to keep track of all this, setup a weekly call and present all gathered information. MM would be just as long as the LET's flagged posts list.
@cociu @MikePT When will someone start responding to tickets?
I seem to remember that he said that, except for the NO location, all VPSs are (moved to?) Oradea. And yes, AFAIK the working again VPSs are E5-26xx v4 NVME ones.
it was on 45.xx now on 188.240.208.xx
He mentioned that it was all going to home back in Oradea, but I wasn't sure if it was confirmed the original nodes w/ data were being moved, or if he was provisioning new VM's.
If data got moved, that's awesome! I won't shit on that positive if it means people are getting at least their data back. Very good!
Francisco
AFAIK, Mike no longer does support for HS, so it's back to cociu, which means it'll most likely take way longer than the French cloud computing company.
all the data is available, but can't connect it via putty
Data intact @Francisco you can find something else to shit on @cociu for
Yes, he isn't close to being back to square 1, where this all started. He has yet to give any proof of what actually happened with the storage users.
For now, how about we let the NVMe people recover, be happy for them, and then get back to the storage/credits/etc stuff in a couple days?
EDIT - Remember, NVME was never a part of the original outage. There was no reason for it to be (storage is local, not on a SAN, etc). NVME stuff only started to drop a month+ later.
I mean, you have one of those plans, so you know the exact timelines.
