Cheapest dedicated servers?
Hello, i need a small dedicated server (for good privacy) for my email server. I'm using Kimsufi since several years for less than 10€/month. I also had online.net for a while until they raised their prices by a lot.
Is there anything else out there in Kimsufi's entry price range?
I'd like something with 4 cores, 4GB+ RAM, 100GB+ SSD in Europe. RAID1 would be ideal.

A Raspberry Pi 4 with a USB SSD would also be a good option i think.
Maybe not but since you mentioned Pi, check out RPIServers.com.
OneProvider has a C2350 (2 cores), 6.99€
Or C2750 (8 Cores), 13€
Your budget is still 10€/month?
Hilarious!
BF, you may snag a i7 with SSD for like 15€ if you are lucky.
Otherwise, no fucking way.
At least triple the price, if you ditch SSD and Raid, you have cheaper options.
The Atom shit mentioned above is slow as fuck and only has 2 cores.

Would be an option if you ditch SSD, Raid and Location, within budget.
I can't believe they're still running thar one. Anyways, this is probably the best you're gonna get for under 10€. You either gotta increase your budget or compromise on specs.
Been running fine for me, for years.
What's up boss
Since it is for email server, I assume CPU power doesn't really matter much.
Why not pikcup a nice affordable VPS from EntryBytes?

For added privacy, you can always encrypt your disk .
Available in the Netherlands and UK
i meant that offer for 9 eur
im pretty sure it's a promo
Gotcha. Yup that's the price I paid and good value if still available.
Interesting. They also have an i3-530 for 10.30€ in Paris (currently sold out) with 2x 1TB S-ATA
Pure shit, the drives are close to death, if you ask for replacement, the spiral of pain begins, not to mention you pay more for a worse cpu.
only advantage of oneprovider is they have no setup fee. so if you have a reallly strict monthly budget.
I guess you can consider VPS and get more choices. Black Friday is the easiest / best time to get something nice. Also some providers like @spectraip and @RackNerd are willing to do special pricing. Check LowEndBox also some old offers still works today.
As for email mailbox i would like to challenge a bit the benefit to host yourself. It's a pain in the ass to get our IPs clean most of the time and even with that you may end in spam. I can imagine you maybe use SES as smtp relay for example so it's a lot easier?
For less than 10/montth i would like more to check privacy friendly providers like ProtonMail or MailBox.org so i have less time to spend in technical stuffs.
Good luck ^^
Do you already have one?
If not, you will most likely need two of them, not only one.
RAID is only useful if there is just a single disk failure. It won't help if your datacenter burns down.
If you are on the very low-end side and don't have any expectations on quality, you may combine a cheap dedicated from Kimsufi (OVH) and OneProvider (Online.net).
We got some in stock! https://RPiServers.com
Looks great, but they're in Texas, right?
Yes, we are located here in Texas.

Are the Raspberry Pis limited to 100mbit/s connections?
What's your experience in terms of durability for the SanDisk 256GB cards?
So far have had pretty good luck with them.
The RPIs are on 1Gbps connections unless you get too frisky with the bandwidth. (Be a friendly neighbor)
