Frequently Asked Questions
What payment methods do you support?
You can pay via Credit Card, BanContact, EPS, giropay, iDeal and Paypal. If none of these payment methods is applicable to you, open a support ticket to pay via SEPA wire transfer.
How long until my virtual server is ready to use?
Provisioning of new virtual servers is fully automated and takes about 5 minutes. As soon as your payment is received, the setup process is immediatley launched for the operating system you selected during checkout. (Provided that our system didn't flag you for manual review.)
What kinds of usages are accepted?
In short: keep it legit and don't abuse the provided resources. No email spam, no file sharing, no Tor nodes, no Torrent and nothing that will max out the shared resources 24/7 (= no crypto currency miners, please). For a more detailed list, see the “Accepted Usage Policy” section of our Terms of Service.
What operating systems are supported?
You can either pick from the latest CentOS, Debian or Ubuntu releases pre-installed on your virtual server; or you can upload any ISO and install whatever operating system you would like to use instead.
What level of support is provided?
These are unmanaged virtual server offers, so you are expected to install and configure the server yourself. You get root access to the virtual server and a Linux distribution pre-installed, but you will have to setup any software according to your requirements.
Can I have a benchmark?
Yes, of course; this is LET after all.
Here is a YABS of the Virtual Server S:

Image Hosting Services are welcomed? I am planning for "Virtual Server E²" incase if you accept us. We are new but we hope to grow rapidly.

As long as you keep the hosted content legitimate, you are responding to complaints in reasonable time and we aren't flooded with an unreasonable amount of complaints, yes, you are welcome.
AlwayzOn are good folks.
Good luck with the sales my dude
Thanks for the kind words!

@alwyzon I see you are hooked up to Voxility, is there any ddos protection included on these plans?
Solid service.
But, it looks like everything goes over Voxility Frankfurt, even your Austria Location.
Swiss goes also via Frankfurt and back to Austria.
I see no point in getting a Austria service if the routing is not direct.
You can see in the mtr, that Voxility apparently has a POP in Austria but its never used as entry point, always Frankfurt.
I would agree, that such a service wouldn't make much sense if it had to take such a detour, but I don't think this is an issue originating in the Alwyzon network. Maybe the other target isn't present on the Vienna Internet Exchange or does not have an open peering policy? I would be happy to look into it if you PM the IP address of the target you try to reach within Austria.
In general, RETN and Voxility are used as transit providers for all international traffic and traffic within Austria is resolved over the Vienna Internet Exchange. Regarding local traffic, below are a few samples of latencies towards the major local carriers.
— Michael
It is a Voxility issue. So it is your issue as you are still singlehomed.
Same issues M247 has.
From Croatia i get direct, but only as Telia has a POP here.
Note that he seems to have both Vox and RETN in Wien.
What’s wrong with having Tier 1 entry points elsewhere (sub-10ms detour but still), as long as there’s local exchange of traffic with the relevant parties?
Are you referring to transit or local traffic?
Alwyzon <-> Voxility <-> Telia
, is resolved directly in Vienna as visible in your tracelog to Croatia. AndAlwyzon <-> RETN
is also handled locally.Give it a try and ping some Austrian target using the Looking Glass, such as a target in the A1 network (213.33.99.70; ~1ms) or the Austrian mobile carrier spusu (193.9.253.212; even less than 1ms). You wouldn't see those barely existing latencies if there would be any detour to Frankfurt.
Traffic is either routed through direct peerings of Voxility within Austria (see A1 example), or over the Vienna Internet Exchange (see Spusu example):
The network isn't single-homed. There is also a transit agreement with RETN.
— Michael
Vouch for Alwyzon, great services. I've used them, and will use them again.
Fair point; I'll see if that route can be improved, but I'm a bit pessimistic on that one. Liberty Global doesn't utilise the VIX route servers and has quite a restrictive peering policy; so direct isn't an option.
— Michael
It is looking good. This is traceroute from UK.
Any coupons for a Virtual Server M?
Such deal would be too large for LETs offer rules, but you could try and see if you can count beyond
EPYCDEAL2X
.Traceroute from Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina 🇧🇦
So sad too late
I am customer now as well and very happy with the VPS. It works fine for my emby.
They also fixed this route by adding Retn:
From Croatia it is nearly the best possible ping i can get also:
Setup was instant also in middle of the night (Paypal).
On a 100/100Mbit Iskon.hr link i get solid 98Mbit in iperf3 via wifi on my Macbook in both directions, ideal, better than many Croatian DCs.
Sadly no BGP, but i hope i can get at least a custom SWIP on my IPv4 if i pay upfront for a year or so as they have their own PA space anyway.
I do not like that the root PW is saved in the control panel, and i do not like that the hostname is automatically set as reverse DNS (and that inconsequently only on v4, not v6). Aside this very good value for the price, zero to complain about.
Welcome aboard and thank you for your feedback! Regarding v6-rDNS, I‘ll look into this, that‘s at least not how it’s intended to be; it should have been set there too automatically.
— Michael
Any new offer? The promocode has expired.
Sorry, but these deals were a limited offer for the launch of the new EPYC-based platform in Vienna. Currently there are no ongoing promotions, but of course there will be more deals should there be something new to announce again.
