Looking for a KVM VPS in Brazil

I am looking for one or more VPSs in Brazil, with preference for São Paulo and Curitiba.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPU: 1 Core
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Storage: 15GB, SSD preferred
  • IP Address: 1x IPv4

Besides the requirements above, I also need to be able to upload a custom Ubuntu 18.04 ISO to run full disk encryption.

Budge is $10 ~ $20 per month. Server will be used to host a public DNSCrypt instance, with rate limiting in place.

For Brazil, if you dont need blazing fast hardware and are fine with limited IOPS i can safely say you can go with gcore networks VPS in brazil. I've written a review about them some time ago (searching .... here)

They offer Brazil, Russia, Nederlands and more.

    HostDime
    Ferenz

There is Sered.net also but you'll have to contact them for their Brazil VPS availability.

I'll update the list here as well: Brazil VPS

Checked both options a few days ago — love Server Hunter, by the way —, but they do not allow custom ISOs I am afraid. Which is a shame, as PhotonVPS has amazing network speeds.

If anyone read this when looking for a VPS in Brazil, please do yourself a favor and do not use Locaweb.

Thank you, HostDime and PhotonVPS do not support custom ISOs, but I will check Ferenz.

Heficed is pretty solid and they allow you to announce your own IPs via BGP. Ferenz is pretty good as well with the best support I ever had with any company.

I would recommend to stay away from PhotonVPS and Localweb.

  • Deployed one with G-Core Labs and one with Ferenz. So far so good, thanks for the recommendation, everyone!

    :)

  • Remember that you can pretty much custom iso any vps by dd'ing the network.xyz image to the boot media. After a reboot you'll be able to boot from a myriad of network installs and install whatever you wish without limits.

    Because???

Unless one is a well known and well respected player here such recommendations are completely worthless. Without providing a reason it boils down to "because joyr said so".

If e.g. @Francisco or @Clouvider do that it's OK. If joyr (uh? who?) does it, it's at best well meant but worthless.

Your first post is a necro to recommend GoDaddy to provide KVM in Brazil. Well done.

I would suggest you to pay attention on the option of support. Having said that your prospective VPS service provider will be located in Brazil you'd better make sure they have English language not Portuguese only. But if Portuguese language support is not a problem , than you can omit that.
Taking into account you are going to have customized OS that is quite important to speak the same language with support.

  • I would suggest you to pay attention to the date.
