Looking for a VPS Provider with Canadian Datacenter location.

Looking for a VPS provider who has Canada datacenter location with unlimited bandwidth. I need Windows Server 2019 at least.** 16GB of ram 250GB+ SSD** is my minimum requirement. It would be great if I can use my own Windows Server 2019 license there. Thank you in advance.

We can do something custom in our Vancouver location, it's not going to be cheap though, particularity with unlimited bandwidth. What is your ballpark budget so I know if it's even worth putting an offer together?

If it's within your budget, I'd also recommend @freerangecloud.

On the other hand you may choose anything from OVH's world (OVH, SoYouStart or even Kimsufi), depending on your actual requirements, they all have some gear with 16GB RAM and 240GB+ SSD - if you are open for a dedicated server as well.

There is also OneProvider currently with a Xeon E3-1245v2, 32GB RAM and 2x 480GB SSD at only $39 in Montreal (=OVH datacenter).

Montreal is the motherlode of hosting in Canada, Toronto comes in at number two.

Finding a low end deal outside of Montreal is significanly less likely.

Both of the above also offer VPS, but be sure to do your due dilligence on them.

I am using Hosterlabs, no complaints, service is solid; my only long term concern is that it is OVH. Also using Servrica, again solid service, no complaints and they have their own datacenter.

    and

    @servarica_hani

Thank you for your recommendation. Their pricing looks pretty good but still hesitant to go for them because I read some reviews and looks like downtime is a common thing with them. What kind of service are you getting from them? Their twitter status is full of downtimes https://twitter.com/servarica .

Potentially stupid question... Is there a serious market for VPS hosting not on OVH's network in Canada? Thinking out loud about future plans

Nope. OVH is the only major company that has a Canadian location. They have such a high capacity there, they can host all these leech companies.

Yes, their VPS performs quite well.
🤞 This is a positive feedback.

If you offer VPS in Nunavut Canada, north of N80° line, I'll consider.

WTF I now wonder if they are connected to the Sinaloa Cartel?

Server and data is located in Quebec, Canada and aplicable governing law would be the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

Canada is a large country and while OVHs network in the east is unbeaten (imo), there is a serious lack of viable options for the west. Although Vancouver is only a few milliseconds away from Seattle, so it's not a huge problem. Still, Canadian options would be great.

Vancouver traffic routes through Seattle, so unless you need geolocation in Vancouver, Seattle is better.

I don't think domestic traffic routes through Seattle unless Bell is even more stupid than I think they are.

A lot of the big residential ISPs route through Seattle, for instance:

     # ADDRESS LOSS SENT LAST AVG BEST WORST
     1 24.68.0.1 0% 6 12.8ms 10.7 9.1 12.8
     2 rd1lp-be124-1.gv.shawcable.net 0% 6 16.6ms 11.7 9.9 16.6
     3 rc1wt-be40.wa.shawcable.net 0% 6 13.8ms 14.2 12.4 20.2
     4 be4476.ccr21.sea02.atlas.coge... 0% 6 20.3ms 17.1 11.2 34.1
     5 be3238.rcr21.yvr01.atlas.coge... 0% 6 15.7ms 17.9 15.7 22.2
     6 38.142.2.212 0% 6 19.1ms 15.8 13.3 19.1
     7 158.51.112.12 0% 6 28.6ms 18.9 15.5 28.6

Most of the smaller regional ISPs will actually peer at route servers and keep regional traffic local

This is disappointing but not completely unexpected. Bell really likes routing me to CloudFlare via Chicago instead of Toronto (which is where I reside). The situation in Vancouver looks worse though which is quite sad.
