Let me show you how your calculations are wrong.

• 6 months for free if you go with 12 months plan
Therefore, if you buy 1 month for $9.99 you get the 1 month that you have paid for +1 month as a gift (so 2 months in total) which brings the cost of 2 months professional hosting to $4.99.
